Elva Doris (Sholdice) Wilbee of
Walton passed away peacefully
with her family by her side, at
Seaforth Community Hospital, on
Friday, August 24th, 2001. She
was in her 73rd year. Born in
Walton on December 1st, 1928,
Elva was the daughter of the late
William and Martha (McCutcheon)
Soldier and older sister -of the late
Mac Soldier. She took her school-
ing at Walton Public School and
Brussels Continuation School.
Living beside both school and
church, she spent a lot of time at
school, Sunday School, Mission
Band, Young Peoples Group and
Church where she made use of her
musical talents in all those places.
Elva taught music for a time
in Grey Township one room
schools and at the three room.
Brussels Public School. She
played the church organ in
Brussels United Church and then
at Duff's United Church, Walton,
from 1967 till 1980. She had many
piano students. She also filled in
for her father on his RR#1 Walton
mail route when transportation was
horse and cutter in winter and
Model A Ford in the summer and
the mail always got through. She
loved horses and dogs and her
summers always included the
Walton Girls Ballteam. Elva met
her husband fan at high school and
they married September 1948.
They shared their interest in music
for many years. They bought
Elva's grandfathers farm in 1949 at
RR#1 Walton. Their daughter
Carol was born in 1949, Keith in
1953 and Brian in 1956. They
worked very hard at farming and
playing dance music. As the chil-
dren got older they joined in the
farming and band. They played
three sax harmony at church on
special occasions accompanied by
Elva on the piano. The losses of
her brother Mac so suddenly in
1979 at the age of 43 and sister-in-
law Dorothy in 1998 were very sad
times for the whole family. Elva
enjoyed her friends and was sad-
dened by the deaths of many of
them through the years. The musi-
cians that played in their band or
helped out were special friends and
her family meant a great deal to
her. Elva will be sadly missed by
her husband Ian and their children
Carol Henderson and her husband
Murray of Egmondville, Keith
Wilbee and wife Gloria of RR#1
Walton, and Brian at home. Dear
grandmother of Scott and Stephen
Henderson and Kevin and Mark
Wilbee. Dear sister-in-law to Ken
and Grace Wilbee of Napanee and
Roy and Eunice Wilbee of
Boissevain, Manitoba. Also loved
by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents
William and Martha Soldier, her
brother Mac Soldier and his wife
Dorothy, and nephew Steven
Wilbee. Friends were received by
the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
PM Sunday at the Schimanski
Family Funeral Home, Brussels.
The funeral service was conducted
from Duff's United Church, Walton,
on Monday, August 27th at 2:00
PM, officiated by Reverend Joan
Tuchlinsky, organist Mrs. Glenda
Morrison and soloist Mr. Graeme
Craig. Friend Neil McGavin gave
words of remembrance and daugh-
ter-in-law Gloria Wilbee gave
reflect ons on the life of Elva.

grandsons Scott Henderson,
Stephen Henderson, Kevin Wilbee,
and Mark Wilbee. Honouray pall-
bearers were Ronny Bennett, Ross
Knight, Neil McGavin, Neil
McDonald, Emerson Mitchell and
Herb Travis. Acting as pallbearers
were Rob Sangster, Murray
Soldier, Barry Smith, Chuck Smith,

As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made
to Duff's United Church or to the

ELLIGSEN: In memory of a special
friend, Warren Elligsen who died
August 30, 1981.
Our hearts are full of memories,
We treasure them with care.
The way you had to leave us,
Will always seem unfair.
Sad are the hearts that love you,
Silent the tears that fall,
Living our lives without you,
Is the hardest part of all.
In all that life has given us,
And all that's lett to do,
We will never have a greater gift,
Than the time we spent with you.
- Always remembered and sadly
missed by Tom Duffy and Family

HILDEBRAND: In loving memory
of a dear husband George who
passed away August 29, 1992.
Memory lane is a lonely place,
Where hearts are ever true,
Along the way I often stray,
Because it leads to you.
We cannot halt the hands of time,
Nor live again in the past,
But in my mind are memories,
That will forever last.
- Loved forever and remembered
every day by your wife Hazel 46-

of a dear father and grandfather
George Hildebrand who passed
away August 29, 1992.
God called you from your family,
And took you to his home,
But every day we think of you,
Then we are not alone.
We remember the good times,
The support and love,
Until we're reunited,
With you in Heaven above,
- Always remembered with a smile
by Ruth, Steve, Jennie and Emily

FLANAGAN: In loving memory of
