God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be So he closed his arms around you, And whispered "Come to Me." A golden heart stopped beating, Your gentle hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, Our hearts were almost broken, You fought so hard to stay, But when we saw you sleeping, Peacefully and free from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. So keep your arms around her Lord, And give her special care, Make up for all she suffered, That seemed to us so unfair. So many Ames we needed you, So many times we cried, If love could have saved you, You never would have died. Lovingly remembered and will never forget you. Maureen and Jackie. 46- 34-1 • 46. In Memoriam SMITH: In loving memory of a spe- cial daughter, Mary Anne, whom Jesus called home on Aug. 24, 1999. Do not cry when I must go, For Heaven waits for me. I got here fine and oh it's grand, There is so much here to see. The Father met me at the gate, while you watched me wilt and die, You could not see, but all around were angels by your side. They told me when I go they would care for you, With my body in such pain it was all that I could do. I told you before I left I didn't want to die. But I have never been so happy, don't see it as good-bye. I have no more pain, and the love here is great, I got a new body when I walked through the gate. Do not cry for me no more, For God's holding my hand. And when you close your eyes to sleep, And reach the promise land. I will meet you at the gate, When the Father guides you through, Until I see you again my dear, Remember, "Mary Anne Loves You." I'll love you always and forever, Mom. 46-34x1 SMITH: In loving memory of a won- derful wife, mother and grandmother Mary Anne Smith, who went to be with the angels on Aug. 24, 1999. Our lives go on without you, And nothing is the same, We have to hide our heartache, When someone speaks your name. Sad are the hearts that love you, Silent the tears that fall, Living our lives without you, Is the hardest part of all. You did so many things for us, Your heart was kind and true, And when we needed someone, We could always count on you. The special years will not retum, When we were all together, But your love within our hearts, Will remain with us forever. Always remembered and sadly missed by Mark, Chris, Julie, Chris, Lindsay and Erica. 46-34x1 LOSTELL: In loving memory of our Dear Mother, Grandmother, Gteat Grandmother Margaret who passed away Aug. 15, 1993. God gave us a wonderful mother More precious than wealth untold. He sprinkled her hair with silver And molded her heart of gold. He needed a new star in heaven A beautiful light to shine. So from out of this great big world he chose That wonderful mother of mine. There will always be heartache And often silent tears. Always precious memories Of the days when you were here. We hold you close within our hearts And there you will remain. To walk with us throughout our lives Until we meet again. Lovingly remembered, sadly missed by Phyllis, Harold Parsons, Donelda, Glen Sturgeon, Susan, Wayne Pridhan, Lloyd, Carol Anne Lostell, grandchildren and great grandchil- dren. 46-34x 1 cc 47 Cards of Thanks MARKS/BOSMAN Thanks to everyone who came out to our Buck and Doe, and to everyone who bought tickets to support us. The diagnosis can be made in a family doctor's office, a memory clinic or a hospital, or by a specialist such as a neurologist or geriatrician. Perhaps you have been experiencing anxiety and worry over the changes yoy are seeing in yourself. Knowing you have Alzheimer Disease, or another dementia, may be upsetting and you may be concerned about the future. Getting a diagnosis is an important first step in caring for yourself. If you have been diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease, you may have difficulty finding words, completing thoughts, following directions or remembering information. You may feel confused and experience difficulty when preforming familiar tasks such as driving a car. These changes are because of Alzheimer Disease: they are not your fault. These changes result as Alzheimer Disease slowly damages the nerve cells of the brain. Changes in memory, thinking, behavior, and personality will change how you live day by day. They will also affect your relationships with others, such as family, friends, and co-workers. You are not the only one going through these changes, Robert Simpson writes about his struggles with Alzheimer Disease in the book 'Through the Wilderness of Alzheimer's How can you care for yourself? 1. Recognize that you are going through a roller coaster of emotions "Sometimes I get scared - when I can't do things. I look around and see all the things I used to do...it seems not long ago. It goes so fast. 2. Tell people Let the people closest to you know that you are living with Alzheimer Disease and how the disease is affecting Huron Alzheimer Society you. You do not have to deal with the changes on your own. can form in kiddie pools3. Learn as much as you can Find out about the disease and how it will progress. Contact the Alzheimer Society of Huron County, they have many useful resources and staff to help you. 4. Recognize that you have a disease "The sooner I would have had the diagnosis, the easier it would have been - it would have been helpful - It's much easier when you know its Alzheimer's because you know something is wrong...well. It's worse then that. You start kicking yourself. 5. Plan for the future Ensure that you have appointed a substitute decision -maker to make financial and health-care decisions for you when you are no longer able. You can do this through a power of attorney for property and a power of attorney for personal care. Register with the Alzheimer Wandering Registry to ensure your safety should you become confused and lost. This registry will allow local police to help you return home safely and give you and your family peace of mind. 6. Seek out help There are many avenues for help. These infections most often cause stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea. To prevent infections, the Health Unit is recommending that parents follow a few precautions. "We know that children love to run in and out of the pool; we also know that small children often drink the pool water," said Laura Farrell, Huron County Health Unit Public Health Inspector. "This could be a problem, especially if the children are running into a barn or through a pasture area. E. coli can be brought into the pool on the children's feet and will grow in the warm water," she said. • Place the pool as far away from the barn or any pasture areas as possible. Even if the livestock are no longer there, it is best to avoid the area; • Place a tablespoon of bleach in the water each time you put fresh, safe water into the pool; • Dump the water from the kiddie pool at least every two hours, or more frequently if there are a number of children in the pool; • If you are on a private well, test your water four times a year to make sure that it is safe; • Do not let children who have diarrhea or vomiting play in the pool.
