two rinks of Mitchell curlers enjoy-
ed a game of curling on the ice.
Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Statham and
family. motored up from St. Thomas
and spent Sunday with relatives in
Exeter.
Mrs. Mollard is visiting for a few
days with her sister, Mrs. George
Hepburn at "Cedar Grove" farm, in
Stephen.
Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Boyle were in
Toronto Wednesday and returned
with a new Overland' Six coach.

Mrs. Chas. Gilley has received
word of the death of her sister, Mrs.
J. H. Hanson, which took piece in
Montreal on Tuesday.

Jr., Miss Verna Coates and, Miss
Stella Southcott,. motored to St.
Thomas Tuesday to visit Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Coates.
Mr. Geo. Westeott, of Usborne,
was taken to Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, on Tuesday where he was op-
erated on for mastoid trouble. He
is getting along nicely.
Mrs. S. Quance, of Toronto, at -
;tended the funeral of the late Chris-
tian Hoffman, of Stephen, on Sat-
urday and is visiting for a few days
with Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Beer and
'other friends.
Mr. and Mrs. John Canton, Sr.
of Petrolia, and Ur. and Mrs. John
Canton Jr., of Wyoming, spent Sun-
day with Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Rice.
Mrs. .Rice returned with the former

Miss Mary Elworthy, `who recent -
.underwent an operation in Vic-
toria hospital, London tor appendi-
citis and also for the removal of her
tonsil`s, returned hone Saturday and

Master Robt. Dinney underwent
an.' operation in Victoria Hospital,
Loddon, on Saturday for the remov-
al of his tonsils and adenoids. His
mother, Mrs, Thos. Dinney and Miss
Vera Rowe accompanied him.
Mrs, Cornish, of Kingston, Mich.,
who two weeks ago came "Frere to
attend the funeral of her sister., the
late Mrs. Stanlake and was taken
ill with la grippe, was sufficiently
improved to ieave for her home on
Saturday.
Mrs. A. Collingwood, of Hamilton
attended the funeral of the late C.
Hoffman, of Stephen, on Saturday.
She also visited' her brother, • Mr.
Wm. Homey, of Eippen, and friends
in Exeter returning to her home
Tuesday evening.
Mrs. F. Witwer and Mrs. I. Hall
returned home Friday last after at-
tending the funeral of a niece at
Ann Arbor, l tieh. Mrs. Witwer,
who has spent the winter with her.
daughter, in Kitchener, will visit in
