Eleven greens were in play and first place went to Don and Marian Fahner of London. Second was Harry and Shirley Jacobi of Lucknow. Third was Fred and Betty Tilley of Seaforth. High two game winners were Bob Thomson and Doris Hackney of Exeter. Fifth was Gerry Doney and Mickey Kindersma of Stratford. Sixth was Brenda Empey of Clinton and Mary Finlayson. Seventh went to Brad Fleming and Bev Fritz of Chesley. Consolation prize went to Jim Stotts and Eileen Adamson of Seaforth. Friday .evening saw Seaforth and Brussels bowlers guests of the Clinton Lawn Bowling Club in a two game mixed trebles jitney. First place went to the team of Jack Muir, Seaforth with Doris Cantelon and Don Hopper of Clinton. Third place went to Jean Shillington, Clinton with Hank Dorssers, Seaforth and Ken Barker, Brussels. After bowling, the Clinton ladies served cake, strawberries and whipped cream. President, Neil Beuerman gave courtesy remarks on Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club a delightful evening. Sunday saw two Seaforth mixed trebles teams competing at the Mitchell Greens. Two game winners were Fred Tilley, Erich Matzold and Mary Finlayson with 2w +34 and Jack and Marie Muir and Joyce Matzold with 2w +32. Bowling in Lucknow on Saturday saw Carol Carter of the Seaforth Club and Jo -Ann Bugler, Exeter win the Provincial ladies pairs . for the District. For the men's pairs it was Jamie McLellan, St. Marys with Lee Ryan of the Goderich and Seaforth clubs winning the men's District pairs. Last Thursday saw Fred and Betty Tilley winning high two game prize at London Thistle Club mixed pairs. Bowling in Exeter Pairs on Wednesday Neil Beuerman and Erich Matzold won second prize with 3w+48+2. Coming up this week will be men's pairs on Wednesday at the Lucknow Club. Friday there is a mixed pairs at St. Marys while Lucknow has optional singles starting at 6:30 p.m. Mary Finlayson Canada Dayoffers fireworks and Firemen's breakfast The Seaforth Firemen's Annual Canada Day Breakfast will once again be held on Sunday, July 1 at the Seaforth Firehall from 7-11 a.m. Come enjoy a full breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, homefries, toast, coffee and juice. Canada Day Fireworks Canada Day fireworks will be held at the Seaforth high school on Sunday, July 1 beginning at darkness. Come enjoy the show for $10 per car load. Senior Shuffleboard Senior Shuffleboard is held at the Seaforth and District Community Centres every Wednesday from 1:30-4 p.m. Last week's winners were: Ladies: Tina Haasen - 265, Joyce Matzold - 227 and Helen Scott - 221. Men: Art Scott - 318, Ken Lingelbach -? 253 and Cor DeCorte - 222. Fitness Classes Fitness is Fun with Drusilla Leitch will continue throughout the summer on Tuesday and Thursday mornings beginning 'on July 3. Thursday classes will only continue if we have enough registered. Registration fee will be $40 for one time per week or $70 for By Marty Bedard twice a week. Aquatic Fitness The Seaforth Lions Pool will host aquatic fitness instructed by Drusilla Leitch, certified instructor, Speedo Waterart Program. Aquatic Fitness will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. July 2 to Aug. 22. Registration fee will be $48 for eight sessions or $7 per session. Summer Reading Program The Seaforth Library will be hosting a summer reading program every Friday morning from 10-11 a.m. from July 6 to Aug. 17. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Bea Stoll. Twenty-eight answered the roll call. A skit entitled "Dumb and Dumber" was put on by Arthur and Eleanor Horst and Pat Rodney, the scene was Heaven and they were talking how man has destroyed this earth that God created. Pat Rodney gave the treasurer's report in the absence of Dilys Finnigan. Nancy Kale gave a report on the Home and Garden Tour. She sold 442 tickets. Janny Streutker, Corry Klaver with the help of the summer student, had planted the south bed. Bea Stoll announced a Healthy Landscape Tour July 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. It takes in 13 properties in a triangle between Goderich, Clinton and Blyth. Pamphlets are available at garden centres and the OMAFRA office in Clinton. Eleanor Horst introduced our speaker, Pamela Stanley Seaforth Horticultural Society of Clinton, speaking on David Austin roses. She prefers a soaker hose instead' of spray when watering. Some English roses are not available in Canada. Pamela was thanked by Eleanor and presented with a cheque.
