Huron Expositor, 2002-06-12, Page 116 -THE HURON EXPOSITOR, June 13, 2001 Sports The Seaforth Novice 1 team had a very successful season, with an overall record of 41-6-2, outscoring their opponents 267-98 and winning their division of the Red Lobster Cup while going undefeated in the nine -game playoffs. In tournaments, they were champs of the Peter Flanagan tournament and Gord Hymers tournament, consolation champs of the Red Lobster tournament and finalists in the Regional Silver Stick tournament and the 5t. George tournament. Minor hockey and ringette registration June Zo and 21 Minor hockey and ringette registration will be held on Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21 from 7-9 p.m. at the Seaforth and District Community Centres. Late registration fees will apply after these dates, so be sure to come in and register. Ringette Registration Ringette is not only fun, it is for fitness, participation, competition, socializing, learning and teaching. Come out and try ringette and you'll want to make it your sport for life. Registration will be June 20 and 21 from 7- 9 p.m. at the Seaforth & District Community Centres. The Ringette Association is also looking for teenagers who may be interested in making some extra cash by becoming a ringette referee. If you are interested please call or sign up at registration. New lawn bowlers welcomed to club's open house last week Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club held its Open House last Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club Wednesday and welcomed new bowlers to the game. This Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. an open house will again be held for anyone wishing to learn lawn bowling. Tournaments are now scheduled in all the districts and last Wednesday saw Jack Muir and Bob Doig winning the consolation prize at the mens pairs in Exeter. Fred Tilley and Neil Beuerman also bowled last Wednesday in London at the Fairmont Club. Jack and Marie Muir bowled Thursday June 7 at Brussels in a mixed pairs, ladies pairs tournament. The mother -daughter trio were among the top winners, winning their two games as this was a two - game fourteen end tournament. Wednesday will see mens pairs in play at the Seaforth Greens while Thursday it will be ladies pairs in the Mel and Esther Brady Memorial Tournament. The sympathy of the club is extended to Kay Lapp of Clinton in the sudden passing of Al Lapp, a member of the Clinton Club for many years.
