Maintenance Person
HURONVIEW (Clinton) & HURONLEA (Brussels)
The County of Huron, Homes for the Aged requires a temporary,
multi-year, full-time Maintenance Person to perform duties
under the supervision and direction of the Financial Manager.
You will be planning, organizing and undertaking routine
maintenance activities, make inspections and minor repairs to
machinery, the building and equipment as well as generally
guiding the activities of the Handy Person.
The successful candidate will start as soon as possible and have
a willingness to work as a team member with other employees of
the facilities, mostly at Huronlea. This position is forty hours
per week with weekend shifts over winter months and you may
be required to work various shifts including evenings and
nights.
Qualifications:
•Grade 12 Diploma
•Recognized courses in maintenance or stationary engineer and
other related topics preferred
•General knowledge of computer applications (e.g. "Insight")

Good Food Box Coordinator
This is a one-year part-time contract, starting immediately. The Huron Good
Food Box Program is a cooperative food buying club, operated by and for
Huron County residents. This program aims to increase the availability of
economical, high quality fresh fruits and vegetables.
The coordinator, under the direction of the Good Food Box Coordinating
Committee, will plan, implement and evaluate the Good Food Box Program
in Huron County. The Good Food Box Committee is a partnership of several
groups including Rural Response for Healthy Children, the Huron County
Health Unit, Huron United Way, and Huron Horne Childcare and Family
Resource Centre.
Skills and Training:
• Knowledge of Huron County community services
• Demonstrated understanding of volunteerism and community development
• Strong organizational, administrative and record keeping skills

The County of Huron Highways Department has two positions
available on the bridge crew and two positions available on the
road construction crew for the 2001 season. These temporary
positions are expected to last from May 2001 until the end of
September 2001. The carpenter, member of the bridge crew,
works on construction, repair and rehabilitation of bridges on
County roads. The truck driver, member of the road construction
crew, will work on several road projects. Both positions will be in
various locations in Huron County.
Qualifications:
• must be in good physical condition
• carpentry experience in form building a definite asset (bridge
crew)
• experience in construction and working with machinery is
preferred
• Class "D" drivers licence and "Z" endorsement (preferred for
the bridge crew)
a Grade 12 education or equivalent education and experience

The Huron Respite Network is a partnership of ten local
Agencies that collaborate to provide emergency and
planned respite for children, youth and adults in
Huron County with special needs.
Position Sunlmary: The Coordinator will act as a
resource and facilitate the objectives of the Advisory
and Management Committees. Duties will range from
policies, procedures and planning; develop and monitor
respite options; recruitment of providers; intake;
matching applicants and providers; maintenance of a
data base; administrative and budgeting.
Skills: post -secondary degree/diploma, demonstrated
accomplishments in coordination role with health or
social services organizations; strong leadership and
communication skills; knowledge of community based
resources; crisis intervention skills: ability to self -
direct.
