Clifford Tournament
Centenaires sign key players.
The Cents signed some key
players last week as the roster
deadline neared. Justin
Riccardi of Flint Michigan
had been with the Cents
during training camp but
chose to try playing with the
University of Waterloo where
he is attending school.
He has decided to rejoin the
Cents down the stretch.
Mark Stanley of Lucknow
also signed with the Cents,
sent to Seaforth from their
Junior C affiliate, Kincardine.
The added talent however
was not enough to upset the
defending champion, Port
Stanley Lakers, Friday night.
The Cents fell behind 1-0
after the first period.
Aaron Parsons tipped in a
pass from Riccardi in the
second to even the score.
Seaforth had numerous
scoring opportunities, hitting
several posts and missing
some crucial scoring
opportunities while the
Lakers power play clicked for
two goals to take a 3-1 lead
into the third period.
Despite outshooting the
Lakers through 40 minutes,
the Centenaires perceived the
deficit ttx) much to overcome
and played an uninspired final
period, yielding two more
power plays and an even
strength goal to fall 6-1.
Sunday night proved to be
a better effort as the Cents
hosted the Mitchell Hawks in
their last meeting of the
regular season. Seaforth
jumped out to the lead as Jeff
Macuspey jumped on a
rebound in front of Hawks'
netminder Eric Scott.
Scott Henderson put the
Cents up by two as he picked
off a Hawks breakout pass
and walked in alone for a
shorthanded tally.
One minute later Justin
Riccardi put the Cents up by
three after 20 minutes.
Henderson scored again on
the power play before the
penalty killers struck again.
Henderson, teaming up with
JD Nolan who roofed a shot
over a sprawling Hawks'
tender, for a 5-0 Seaforth
lead.
The penalty kill unit did the
work for the Cents again as
Henderson slid home a
rebound on a shot from
newcomer Mark Stanley.
Matt Roberts and Tim Sills
added third period markers

before Mitchell spoiled David
Stonely's shutout bid with
three minutes to go in the
game.
Tim McClure, Adam
Boshart, Mike Murray and
Scott Van Dooren added
assists in the win.
The victory gives Seaforth
31 points in as many games,
good enough for first place in
the Morena division heading
into the All Star break.
Lucan currently sits in
second place with 29 points,
Mitchell and Exeter have 27
points. "It's a tight race right
now," said General Manager
Dave Parsons. "Nobody
knows for sure any playoff
matchups. yet."
