Administrator Jack McLachlan, skip, was part of a Huron East team that took part in a curling match -up as members from the past and present celebrated the club's 125 -year history. Washroom destroyed by deliberate fire A washroom facility at the Maitland Valley Conservation Park in Brussels was destroyed by fire on Nov. 7 and Huron OPP are looking for those responsible. Shortly after midnight, police were called to the scene by someone walking his dog and found the 10 foot by six foot building engulfed in flames. The fire was put out by the local fire department but no value has been set for the loss of the building. Anyone with any related information is asked to call the Huron OPP or OPP report Crimestoppers. Guns stolen from Hulett business Two rifles and a shotgun were among the stolen goods taken from Petteplace Heating and Cooling sometime over the past few months, says Huron OPP. The shop on Highway 8 between Seaforth and Clinton has been closed for several months and was recently discovered to have been broken into. Also stolen were kitchen taps, a generator a n d expansion plumbing tools. "Huron OPP are especially concerned over the theft of the guns," says Const. Don Shropshall. The driver did not stop for police immediately but once stopped, as the officer approached the car, it began to roll backward. It struck the cruiser causing minor damage•.
