Mr. Cephas Pym underwent an op'` eratiou on Friday for the removal of his tonsils. Mrs. Jas Stott, of Granton, is vis- iting for a week with Mr. and Mrs. `4 V. 3. Passmore. Mr. C. T. Brooks, left Saturday to visit for a few days with Mr. A. G. Pearson, of London. Mrs. Wm. Chappel, of Dundas, spent several days in Exeter with her father, Mr. Hy. Reynolds. Messrs. W. A. Balkwill and ?Wm. Greenley attended the funeral et the late John Sharp, of Stephen on Fri- day. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hawke, of Clinton, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Welsh, for a few days last week. Miss Lizzie Taylor was called to Sandwich on Saturday last owing to the serious illness of her sister, Mrs Hannah Cook. On Sunday morning while service was being held in the church a robe was stolen from a cutter in the James St. church shed. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Sutherland of Mt. Brydges, spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Welsh, Gidley Street. Dr. James Jarrott, of Kippen, vis- ited with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. John- ston, of town, one day last week. Mr. Jarrott is a former pupil of Mr. Johnston. Dow, comprising horses, rigs, cutters,_ sleighs, etc., and is now prepared to handle any kind of livery work. Mr. Earl Whiting, who recently disposed of his farm near Parkhill;: is visiting his father-in-law, Mr, Jo- siah Kestle. Mr. Whiting is' look- ing for a farm in this community. The high tension hydro wires have caused a disturbance to radio re- ception throughout this community for several weeks and the trouble was located by Supt. H. W. Doerr, "at Sarepta, on Tuesday. Mr. Thos. Coates and Roger Camp- bell, of St. Thomas, spent the week- end withthe former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rd. Coates, of Usborne. His brother Frank, who has been ill is somewhat improved.
