Turner family as
they held their

July 22.
Twenty-five relatives sat down to a
delicious smorgasbord dinner. One minute
silence was held in memory of Allan
Pridham who died since the last reunion.
Dinner prayer of thankfulness was given by
Anna
O'Donnell.
Relatives were
present from
Kitchener, Stratford, Mitchell, Dublin and
surrounding district.
Happy Birthday to Clare Murray, R.R. 1,

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A bird in the hand is better than one over
your head.
Visiting bands inspire
residents to dan
We would
like to
welcome
Stella
Johnston to our Retirement Home.
During the hot days, we have enjoyed
many ice cream and popsicle parlors here.
Some days inside, where the air conditioning
is and other days outside on the patio.
Our dietary staff has put on a barbecue for
us every Thursday at lunch. This has really
been a treat for us and we've enjoyed it very
much.
Peter Shaw came to our retirement home
on July 6. Everyone enjoyed the interesting
afternoon with Peter. We will definitely have
him back again.
The Swinging Seniors played music on our
patio on July 10. It was a beautiful afternoon
and there were lots of residents up dancing to
the great music.
Cathy Schalk, our administrator, baked
pizza with our residents this month, from
scratch. We look forward to baking again

We held a
pub on our
patio on the
evening of July 18. It was a hot night outside,
however, it was nice to sit and visit with
close friends.
The Huron Strings also played for us on
our patio in July, on another lovely afternoon.
We had many people up dancing to the music
and we even did the bird dance, which was a
lot of fun.
The Lions Club held a picnic at Lions Park
on July 25. They picked us up by bus and we
went to the park for the afternoon. There was
a demonstration of a dog for the hearing
impaired and everyone enjoyed this. Then
there was dancing to Frances Melody and
Tom Melody's band. What great old time
music. Cleave Coombs got up and sang with
the band and did a great job. We finished off
the afternoon with a delicious supper from
the Lions Club.
Ice cream parlour held
indoors for residents
Fun and fitness
started the week for
residents Monday
morning with
exercises and
games in the sunroom.
Worship on Tuesday was
led by Rev. Kevin Rutledge
of the Emmanuel Baptist
Church in Exeter.
Volunteer, Lorraine Brock
joined residents Wednesday
afternoon for several games
of euchre. Cards are a much
enjoyed pastime for many
residents and it's wonderful
to have volunteers who are
willing to spend an afternoon
Queensway Nursing Home
playing games with them.
The scheduled ice cream
parlour Thursday afternoon
was welcomed by residents
and staff as three kinds of ice
cream cones were served.
Usually this treat happens on
the patio but due to hot,
humid weather it was served
indoors in air conditioned
comfort.
