Seaforth outshot the Irish 52-37 but were unable to finish on some key opportunities allowing the Irish to steal game five setting up a do or die game six for the locals on Friday in Seaforth. On Friday Lucan capitalized on some missed assignments in the Centenaire end to take a 1-0 lead midway through the first. AJ Larivee responded on the power play sneaking a point shot through to even the score. • With three minutes to go in the period, Jeff MacCuspey sent Scott Henderson down the right wing. Henderson unloaded from the top of the circle and the blast found its way through the Irish netminder to close the period with Seaforth up 2-1. Henderson struck again in the second as Van Dooren and MacCuspey went to the net. Henderson walked out from behind the Irish goal and patiently picked his spot to put the locals up by two. The Cents started the third period dragging their heels and the Irish jumped on a loose puck one minute in to narrow the gap. Lucan, looking to win the series, pressed and suddenly tied the game as a sprinting winger beat a fatigued Centenaire defenceman setting the stage for a dramatic finish. The Cents regrouped through the final half of the period and thought they had scored the go ahead goal before it was waved off and ruled gloved into the net. Seaforth pressed on but were unable to win in regulation time. During overtime, the game went back and forth and it appeared the Irish would finish as a Centenaire defender fell, springing the Irish to a breakaway which was thwarted by Chuck Robertson to keep Seaforth alive. With three minutes to go Seaforth won a face off in their own end to AJ Larivee. Larivee dumped the puck to the Irish end where Scott Van Dooren won the battle for the puck and found Henderson open in the slot. Henderson made no mistake and the arena erupted in cheer as the Cents sent the series to a seventh game. A strong show of support was evident in the stands Sunday as the number of Seaforth fans matched those for Lucan. The Cents would need support if they were to be the first team to win on the road this series. Despite some scrambles in their own end the Cents had the majority of chances through the first 20 minutes including several minutes on the power play. Matt Roberts notched the only marker as he swung out from behind the Irish net and roofed the opening marker. Midway through the second Lucan darted out of their own end on a power play finishing off a three on one break to even the game at one, but • 30 seconds later Seaforth answered back as AJ Larivee tossed a puck towards the Irish net which snuck past the Lucan netminder to put the Cents back on top. Seaforth, energized by the go-ahead goal, took it to the Irish through the last five minutes of the period. Josh Holland delivered a lead pass to a streaking Scott Henderson who broke free and slipped in his fourth goal in two games. Matt Roberts and Tim McClure on the forecheck found Aaron Parsons wide open in the slot and Parsons hammered in his first of the game, closing the period up 4-1. Parsons struck twice more in the third driving one home off of an offensive zone draw and another from the slot to cap the win 6-1. The win leaves Seaforth as the only Morenz division team still alive as they now face off against the defending champion Port Stanley Lakers.
