Play means learning at daycare
It's busy,
it's lively,
it's
colourful.
Seaforth Cooperative Children's Centre
One visit to the Seaforth Co -Operative
Children's Centre and you will know that
those words are true. You will always find lots
of smiling faces, laughter and opportunities for
child interactions.
As you look around you will see children
participating at the craft table -- parents and
early childhood educators lending a hand with
glue sticks and paint, or on the floor helping to
build a fabulous building with blocks. There
will be interesting creations being formed at
the play dough table and let's not forget the
interactive lego table.
On a regular basis, the large climber gets
turned into a palace where there are Kings and
Queens. dragons and many other characters
from never never land. At times you will not
be able to
tell who is
having more
fun -- the
adults or the children, but that is what it is all
about; positive relationship building.
It may just look like a "play time" but there
is a great deal of learning going on. Children
are presented with opportunities for hand
coordination, social skills, language
opportunities, classification, counting, it's all
there. Leaming has never been more fun.
The Seaforth Co -Operative Children's
Centre is well positioned to support children in
our community; thereby strengthening
families and building a child and family
friendly community. It's one more reason why
Seaforth is a great community to raise
children.
Shirley Brooker
Director
encouraged to attend.
The Auxiliary meeting on
April 4 will be preceded by a
pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m.
This is the Auxiliary's 49th
anniversary. All members are
asked to come out and enjoy
the comradeship.
The branch and auxiliary
were saddened to hear of the
death of Wesley Coombs. A
Legion service was
conducted by President
Branch 156 Eva Brown last
Friday evening. To his wife.
family and friends we extend
our sympathy.
They shall not grow old as
we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor
the years condemn them. At
the going down of the sun
and in the morning we will
remember them.
