She was 82. Mrs. Jewitt was born on Sept. 17,,, 1918 in Hullett Township. She was the beloved daughter of the late George and Annie (Jarma) Leitch. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilbur Jewitt (1996). Mrs. Jewitt was a farmer and took on the farming operation after the death of her hus- band. She has resided in Clinton since 1971 and retired from the Seaforth Hospital as a custodian in 1983. Mrs. Jewitt is the loving mother of Ronald and Jean Jewitt and Gary and Chrystal Jewitt, all of Clinton, Glenyce and Ralph Glew of Dorchester, Beverley and Betty Jewitt of Midhurst and Brian and Jean Jewitt of Coldstream. She was the dear grandmother of Jeffrey and Laura Jewitt, Bradley Jewitt, Jennifer and Eddie Matsumoto, Susan and David Cowman, Paul and Sabrina Glew, Kevin Glew, Craig Jewitt, Trent Jewitt, 'Lindsey Jewitt, Deron Jewitt and Leanne and Laura Jewitt. Mrs. Jewitt will be sadly missed by five great grand- children, Jaden Glew, Kaylin Glew, Riley Glew, Allyson Jewitt and Alexander Cowman. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Ella Jewitt -Flood of Clinton and Jeanne Stella of Wawota, Saskatchewan. Mrs. Jewitt was predeceased by her granddaughter, Karen Ann Jewitt (1969). Friends were received at the Beattie -Falconer Funeral Homes, 153 High Street on Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the funeral home on March 1 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Biggar officiating. Pallbearers were Jeffrey Jewitt, Bradley Jewitt, Kevin Glew, Paul Glew, Craig Jewitt, Trent Jewitt, Deron Jewitt, Dave Cowman and Eddie Matsumoto. Predeceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Mabel was a mem- ber of the Orange Lily and Rebekah Lodges. Mabel also taught music for over 50 years to many in the community. Jean was born in Tuckersmith Township, daughter of the late David and Jennie May (Currie) Gemmell. Jean belonged to the Horticultural Society. Jean was also a member of Egmondville United Church and the church choir. Jean enjoyed many hobbies which included playing the Hawaiian guitar, and oil painting. Beloved wife of the late Albert Victor Lee, whom she married on March 8, 1939. Dear sister of Dorothy Huras of Stratford, Thomas G. Gemmell of Seaforth and sister- in-law of Ethel Gemmell. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews and their. families. Predeceased by 3 brothers, Reverend Glan, Angus and Douglas Gemmell, and by brothers- in-law Kenneth Huras, Arthur and Morris Lee.
