Grade Ss win pyjama day contest
Lawrence Flanagan left on his
travels to Australia last Sunday. On
the way, he enjoyed a three-day
St. Colo rnban
stop over in Hawaii. When he -
arrived in Sydney, the temperature was 39 C.
He will be spending the next several months touring
Australia.
Lawrence is the son of Larry and Joanne
Flanagan.
The family held a farewell dinner for Lawrence
before his departure. Guests included Pat and Al
Koehler, Adam and Denise, Laurene Maloney and
Charlie Downey.
Following the dinner, the festivities continued at
the home of Frank and Louise Flanagan where the
Flanagans were gathered to celebrate Emma's first
birthday.
Mike and Kelly Van Drunen, Garrit, Kurtis and
Alysha from Utica. Michigan, visited with his
mother, Jean Van Drunen.
The students at St. Columban enjoyed "Pyjama
Day" this past week. The (;rade 5
class won the day, having the most
people wearing pyjamas.
The Grade 8 class has been
the focus of presentations from Mitchell District High School
and St. Michael Secondary School in Stratford. The
presentations inform the students about the high
schools, describing the activities and classes available
at each school. The Grade 8 students will soon have to
make a decision about where to continue their
education next year.
Due to circumstances, the St. Columban social
committee had to postpone the afternoon of fun
scheduled for this past Sunday. The afternoon of
tobogganing and sledding will take place this Sunday
from 1:30 until 4:30 p.m. at the hill at the Lion's Park in
Mitchell.
Everyone is invited to bring their tubes, carpets, sleds
and toboggans for a fun time.
