Wilfred Allen; son of Mr. and
Mrs. Thos. Alien, of tare•,Thames
Road, left his home Saturday to
come to Exeter and has not been
heard from since. Wilfred is about
seventeen years old and is a student
at the Exeter High School. On Sat-
urday he was walking to Exeter
with, a parcel, underhis arm and
was picked up and given a ride by.
one of the neighbors. He gave no
intimation that he was leaving home
Wilfred is a bright lad and is highly
esteemed by all who knew him. Any
information will be gladly received
by his parents or Mr. T. Cameron.
RETURNS FOR THIRD
OPERATION
Mr- Milo, Snell and 'Mr, and Mrs,
Ulric Snell motored to Detroit on
Saturday, where Mr. and ears. Ulric.
Snell took ,the boat for Cleveland.
Mrs. Snell has not been well for sei-
eral months ° and has already under- 1
gone two operations.„ She expects tee
undergo a third operation and it is
hoped that following this she will
speedily regain her health anis
strength.
TWO .liIEN ELECTROCUTED
NEAR DETROIT
Albert Baker, of Sarnia, son-in-
law of Mr. Geo. Anderson, of Ex-
eter and his companion, Clarence
Houck, of,, Pt. Huron were electro-
cuted on Friday last while working
on. a broken power line near. Port
Huron.
The men were in the act of re-
pairing a broken line tor the De-
troit Edison Co. when a current of
48,000 volts passed through their
body and snuffed out their lives.
An orer had been given to shat off
the power and through an error
someone accidently threw the wrong
switch with the ' above result. A
third man was 'with them, but was
uniujured. Mr. Baker was ' a for-
mer employee of the Ontario Hydro
Electric Power Commission and had
been working with 'th.s Eaison Co.
only a week.
The deceased is survived by his.
widow, whose maiden name, was
Florence Anderson. His, mother.
one sister and three brother, all 1;ve
in Hamilton. The remains were
brought to Exeter and the funeral
was held Tuesday afternoon inter-
ment in the Exeter Cemetery.

LADIES' AID L LJ1VEST HOME
AT JAMES STREET CHURCH
Very successful Harvest Home
services were held by the ladies' Aid
society of James St. church on Sun-
day. A ladies :choir led the 'singing
and furnished special music through-
out the day. Member's of the society,
also acted as ushers and cellectors.,
the alter rail was beautifully decor-
ated with an abundance of flowers
and fruits. The pastor, Rev. E.
Sheppard delivered two very appro-
priate sermons in keeping with the
occasion. He spoke of the excellent
work the local organization had
,done both in the church and parson-
age. A special offering was re-
ceived amounting to $130.

lentyne, son of Jas. Ballantyne, of
Usborne, will be glad to know that
after a prolonged sickness he is so
far improved as to be up around,
having taken a short car ride.

tion on. Saturday last. The house
and property . were not sold, The
grass farm on the Lake Road was
sold to Mr. Wm. Kernick for $2500..

en in baseball by the. Lucan nine by

sports, The scholars were enter-
