DOUBLE 'WEDDING All`
VANCOUVER/
The Sunday Providence, of Van,
couvor, B.C., dated August 30th,
contains the following account of a
doublewedding, one of the grooms
being Dr. W. E. Weekes, who re-
cently opened up a practice in Ex-
eter. Dr. Weekes and his bride are
expected home the ,latter part of
this. week after a, wedding trip to
Alaska.
"More than usual interest attended
the double weddingthat took place
at St. Andrew's United church on
Saturday evening, especially among
pioneer residents of the city, when
Annie .;Marjerie and Helen . Gertrude,
daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Mutrie, became, respectively, the
brides of Mrr. Hilary V. Littler, .son
of the late Rev C R. Littler, and
Mrs. Littler of Victoria, and of Dr.
William Edward Weekes, son of the
late Mr Edwin Weekes, and Mrs.
Weekes of Wardsville, Ont Autumn-

purple and white, blended with vari-
hued sweet,pea blossoms . in the
chancel and he centre table at the
church, where the service was con-
ducted by Rev. J. S. Henderson, ' D.

Dr. Weekes, Mr. Mutrie gave his
daughters away in marriage.

Both brides were attired in gowns
of ivory, .Marjorie in chaznieuse
crepe, and Helen in satin romaine
fashioned with ruched front panel of
rich Chantilly lace; - Breton veils
were worn in Egyptian mode, with
pointed frill at -back of head, the
former wearing a double cornet of
orange blossoms, and the latter,a
mitred circlet of silver pearls wt•
side posy of. orange blossoms. QOM
glia roses and lily of the valley coni -r
posed their bouquets.
Miss Margery Littler, sister of the
bridegroom, attended the former as
maid of honor, and wore a frock of
orchid georgette over Pink satin, with
hand -painted floral design, and ivory
lace' and taffeta hat. Miss Mary
MaeBeth *as in attendance on the
latter, in a frock of midnight blue
over orchid georgette designed with
circular side panels, with rossettes
of orchid and flat in harmonizing
tones, trimmed with georgette flow-
ers, Mauve and: pink sweet pea
bloseebas comprised their showers
bouquets,

in the interval of signing the reg-
ister, Miss Jessie Aram sang "My
World." Following the ceremony a
reception was held at "Lanark
Brae," Fairview, the residence of.
thebride's parents, where only 11 -
mediate relatives and ultimate
friends were present, Mrs. Mutrie
and Mrs, Littler received the guests,
the former wearing a handsome
gown of navy blue morocain poplin,
with insertion of• blue andsilver
lace, black velvet hat with ospreys
and ostrich scarf; the latter wearing
a smart gown of Week bengaline silk
relieved with, white, black hat and
ermine fur.
Profusions of rose -tinted. Hydras-.
ges blooms and dahlias were used
throughout the rooms. Acting as.
servitenrs were Miss Olive Cots -
worth, Miss 'Jessie MacBeth, Miss
Muriel • Munn, Miss Evelyn Hanna,
Miss Bessie Dunsinuir, Miss Ethel,
Livingstone and' Miss Eura Leeson.
On Honeymoon Trips
Later Mr. and Mrs. Littler and Dr.
and Mrs. Weekes left on their honey
noon trips, the former to Banff and
the latter to Shagway, prior to tak-
ing up residence at Victoria and
Exeter, Ontario, respectively.'
Mrs, Weekes wore for tra<velli;ng.
a gown of Palely georgette in green
and goldcolorings and coat of navy
gaberdine with stole martin fur and.
,hat of beige oolored velvet wreath-
ed with blue, gold and green velvet
flowers.

The Olandeboye W: L held its
September meeting at the home •of
Mrs. A, Morgan, 4th concession, Mc-
`Gillivray, with a good attendance.
Mrs. George Young, , the president,
occupied the chair. Roll call was
answered by selections fromfavorite
poems. Seven visitors were made
welcome and 1 new member' was en-
rolled. Very interesting and in-
structive addresses were given ` by
Mrs: L. Amos and by Miss Lydia
Sherritt, who has been working in
Celina for five years. An amusing.
contest, guesing the number of rais-
ins in a cake, was held, resulting in
the • winning of the first prize, an
alulnintui: pudding dish, by Mrs.
GeorgeYoung. and the second prize,
a nail brush, by Miss ,Margaret
Dixon. The institute has offered
prizes for the parades at ;the coming.
school fair et $5, $4, $3, $2 and $1
and isalso giving $1 to each com-
peting school at the fair. ' Tea was
served uy the lunch committee, Mrs.
iVfisses Florence McRann and Mar -
George Dixon, Mrs. T. Atkinson and
garet Maguire.
The W. A. of St. James' church,
Glandeboye, held this week's meet-
ing at the home of Mrs, Omar Ouu-
ningham, of the 2nd concession, Mc-
Gillivr•ay. There was a good atten
dance and the .afternoon was devote
ed to sewing. A number of articles
were made for the annual bale and
patching was done for the quilt
which is being madefor sale at the
bazaar to be held later in the fall.
A very interesting letter from Mrs.
Frank Anderson, president of the
W. A. of Huron diocese, was read by
the president, Mrs. L, O'Neil. The
letter dealt with the present Domin-
inn convention in Vancouver and the
coining convention to be held at
Simcoe. Tea was served by the com-
mittee, Mrs. S. McRann, Mrs. Wil-
liam McWilliams and Mrs. A. Phil

Miss Lila Taylor left Monday for
St. 'Thomas to assume: her duties as
instructress in art, at Alma College,
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Earl visited the
latter's brother, Mr. Orville Cann of
the Thames Road on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnston spent '
Sunday with the latter's parents,
Mr, and Mrs. John Cann,
Mrs. John Johns, Mrs. Geo. iarl
and Mr. WM. J. Brock attended the
funeral of the ' late Mrs. Samuel
Peart at Guelph last week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Johns, Mr, and
Mrs. W. J. Brook and Mr. George
Brock attended the funeral of their
aunt, Mrs. M. Hoskins of London on
Thursday last.
\Mr. Ephraim Hera has purchased
the : 1Q0 were farm of Mr. Robt.
Taylor. M'r. Taylor, • intends mov-
ing to Granton in the .near future.
