Doreen Canavan of Brucefield United Church led worship and communion service for residents, Dec. 12. Pastor Tuininga of Christian Reform Church in Exeter officiated at the Dec. 19 service. We continue to be grateful for those clergy that make a point of visiting -their parishioners residing at Queensway, especially over the holidays. Belva Fuss, as pianist and Marg Cole, Auxiliary volunteer also make an invaluable contribution to the church services. Max and The Townliners performed following Senior Diners Dec. 14 and kept the crowd in attendance entertained with their music. Presbyterian Church members and others were in caroling this past week. It is wonderful to be part of such a caring community. St. Columban Choir gathers at Ryan home St. Columban Members of the St. Columban Choir gathered at the home of Ron and Mary Ryan on Wednesday evening. then went out caroling, paying Christmas visits to some of the senior members of the community. Visits were made to Louis Nolan, Joe and Helen Nolan, Esther Kelly, Frances Melady and Annie Cronin. The evening concluded with a social time back at the Ryan household. Several members of the choir participated with Tom Melady, Danielle Melady and Cynthia Nowak in singing Christmas carols to raise money for the Food Bank. Julie and Dwayne Hoekstra, Kitchener, welcome their new son, Blake Gregory. Big brother Logan, rand grandparents, Jim and Karen Cronin, are thrilled at the new arrival. Poems read at women's meeting Seaforth Women's Institute Seaforth Women's Institute held its meeting at the home of Betty Hulley on Nov. 14. President, Olive Papple welcomed everybody. Roll call was answered by seven members. Minutes of the October meeting were read by Betty Hulley. Treasurer's report were given by Helen - - MacKenzie. At the December meeting, the quitter's will be invited. A donation was made to the Christmas bureau. Reports were given by Olive Papple-and Marjorie Rock. The meeting was turned over to Betty Hulley who read poems, "All Through November" and "Faces of Wars," and "Ten Commandments." Lunch was served by the hostesses Olive Papple and Kay O'Rourke.
