There were two girls and two boys. One of the boys was Luke and the other was Chris. One girl was Lucy and the other was Cara. They lived in a small house and it was almost Christmas. Every Christmas people buy lots of toys. The stores are always packed with people. One day Luke, Chris, Lucy and Cara were shopping for their mom and dad. "I'll buy dad a brush and a calculator and mom a glass dish and tap shoes for tap dancing," said Lucy. "Then I'll buy dad a computer and mom an aquarium for Smarky instead of that bowl," said • Chris, "because I've got the most money." Cara and Luke were too little to buy gifts. Lucy and Chris had a hard time finding the things they wanted. The computers were gone, the aquarium was gone. The calculators, glass dishes. shoes for tap dancing and brushes were all gone. They looked in every store. They went home very exhausted. We have to find the presents for them or they will not have presents for Christmas. Maybe we could just tell them there were no presents. Besides Christmas doesn't mean presents or gifts. It means that Jesus was born. On Christmas morning the children told their mom and dad that they were the presents. They were the gifts for their parents. Then they had a big party. Matt Nigh Gr. 3 The Best .Christmas THE BEST CHRISTMAS Once upon a time there was a little boy named A.J. A.J. had finally got his wish. One day he thought he should close the store down. That day he said to his wife, "I think I have to close down the store!" So that day he thought and thought about closing the store. Then he saw a child waving at him. I think he wants to come in. So he let the child come in. The child asked, "why are you closing the store down?" "Because I am getting too old to work," he answered. "Hey I will run the store." "O.K. you can run the store." So he ran the store for the rest of his life. The old man paid him and the store still made enough for the old man and his wife to have a happy retirement. Jodi Keys Gr. 4 THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT Once upon a time there was a family. They never got any presents at Christmas because down the road was a very rich man. He took their presents. The family was very, very poor but the other man was very rich. It wu their 98th Christmas and alt that time they had never hada present. But one Christmas, can you believe it, they got some presents. It was nothing like ours but they liked it because they had never seen a real present. The presents were gross, but they were from the man down the road. The next Christmas they got something beautiful. It was love, and it was from the very rich man. They became friends. Every Christmas they got together. The family and the man got toys and food every Christmas day. The family lived with the man and they loved each other. They celebrate Christmas but presents aren't all of Christmas. They had love and they lived happily ever after. Rachel Askett Gr. 2 WHAT EASTER AND CHRISTMAS HAVE IN COMMON Once upon a time, these was a grinch not the grinch that stole Christmas. It was his nephew that loved Christmas. His name was F.B. and the grinch hated Easter this time. He wouldn't change. He would only like Christmas. So he would have to stop Easter now. But how shall I stop it? He thought and thought. But he didn't have a sleigh. He used a wagon and a tractor to pull it so he got on a bunny suit. He started off but there was no gas. He thought and said "I will use water." He had everything he needed and remembered that the Easter bunny hides the candy. He looked all night and at 8 o'clock a.m. he finished. When he got back to his cave he looked at all of the candy. So he called his dog Max and dived into the candy. They ate the chocolate bunnies and the peppermints. They ate all of it and they got so fat that they would never ever steal anything again. When they finished, it was Christmas. He still had the sleigh and delivered all the presents. While he was there he promised them to never steal again. From then on Christmas and Easter were both very happy times. Tyler Hendriks Gr. 4 ICE BATTLE One day Santa was working until the windows opened and a cold breeze came in. The elves said that they saw Jack Frost and his army of snowmen. Then Jack Frost jumped in and said, "I am here to chill out and have an ice battle. Attack!" Jack Frost blew in his ice and froze the whole place. Santa saw the sun and pointed some of the sun rays towards Jack Frost and the snowmen. They began to melt. Santa and the elves went back to work, making toys.
