This is the second • week of five for the FESTIVE RIDE program. In Huron County during the week of Dec..6 to Dec. 12 the OPP stopped 2.550 vehicles in these RIDE programs. As a result of these vehicles being stopped. there were several different charges laid including; five - 12 hour driver's. licence suspensions, three charges of impaired/over 80 mg/refusal. and 21 other charges which included violations under such statutes as the Highway Traffic Act. the Ligour Licence Act, the Criminal Co(lc ctc. The three drinking and driving charges Meant that three people automatically lost their driver's licence for 90 days. In addition. there wcrc 27 motor vehicle collisions during 'this time period. Twenty-one of them involved property damage only.
