"Snowmobiles continue •-to be -a. problem.-' Acting Works Superintendent Derek Robinson advised Hensall council at the final` regular:meeting on Dec. • 11. Motorized snow machines are making the removal of • snow from Village sidewalks very difficult. and creating hazardous conditions for those walking. Council added,their concern that the excessive banks and drifting in areas are safety -compounding concerns. The Village currently has a by-law on the books, that restricts the use of snowmobiles within the Village. At present, snowmobiles are prohibited from public sidewalks•and boulevards. .Hensall • council recommended that the Municipality of Bluewater re-examine the by-law and its enforcement. Council further suggested that barring more co-operation from snowmobile operators. perhaps a total ban within the Vjllage limit's is necessary. ,Council left the matter as a recommendation at this time; but is encouraging owners to be more responsible. Parents are also asked to review proper and sale operation practices with their young operators.
