Legion hosts
annual children's
Christmas
concert
Last Sunday the 48th annual Legion Children's
Christmas Concert was held. President Eva Brown
welcomed everyone to Branch 156.
In the concert were Stacie Van Miltenhurg. step dance;
Melissa Pushelberg, organ; Melissa Pushclberg. William
and Laura Chappel, singing: Gwynne Burgess, piano;
Mark Pletch, Sabrina Kenny-Meidinger. singing; Victoria
Cardiff, singing and recitation. All the children joined in a
sing -song led by Allyson Cardiff. Santa Claus came and
gave the children a big bag of candy, apple and oranges.
Coffee, cookies and a cold drink were served by Mary
Dejong and Helen Ann Elliott.
The December executive meeting is Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.
The general meeting is Dec. 21 at 8 p.m.
At the going down"of the sun and in the morning we will
remember them.

Christmas
services
At Hensall United
Church, the guest minister
was Les Hills. The sermon
was "Prepare the Way."
Belva Fuss was the organist
with Mona and•Vern
Alderdice greeting the
worshippers. Janice and
Garry Alderdice received
the offering. Ross Kercher
looked after the elevator.

Congregation and the
Community Youth Choir.
They will present thc
Christmas story in a play
entitled "Oh No, Not
Another Christmas Play." A
free-will offering will be
taken, followed by a
fellowship hour.
At Hensall Carmel
Presbyterian Church
Tracey's message was
"Second Coming." Joyce
Pepper was the organist.
Marg Baker lit the Advent
Candle and also looked
after the church school
class. The offering was
received by Harry Smith
and Al Hoggarth. Singing
voices are needed for
Christmas Eve.
St. Columban
and Dave' and. their
families on the loss
of their husband and
father. John
Soontiens.
Happy Birthday to
Pat Feeney who
celebrated this past
week.
The students at St.
Columban School
have completed their food
drive which helps many
needy people at this time
of year.
Mrs. Petrasek's class
gained the distinction of
having collected the most
food for the drive.
Dana Dalton, who
teaches piano to several
area students from St.
Columban and Seaforth,
held a piano recital with
those students on Sunday
afternoon in the gym. The
gym was filled,by many
interested people ' who
enjoyed the . solo
performances,, duets and
young people playing and
singing in groups. The
