The proprietor has proposed a lease

- Anoffer to have the ambulance

Acceptance of this location would

efficiency and effectiveness potential,
and the possible implerrientation of 24

Tractor
parade
gives
rural
families
chance
to come
together
By Scott Hilgendorff
Expositor Editor
In an attempt to bring a
rural neighbourhood
together • during the.
holiday season, .- an
unusual tractor parade has
been planned.
Irma and Gordon•Pry•ce
of McKillop Township
got together with some
neighbours to talk about
putting together a farm
tractor parade along some
of the township's
backroads.
The idea _ is for
neighbours. to decorate
their farm equipment with
Christmas lights for the
event planned . Dec.. 9 at 5
p.m.,
"It's just a community
get-together:' .on this
road," said Pryce who
lives on Sawmill lead.
"Everybody leads such
stressed -out lives and we
thought we'd ...get
together." said Pryce.
But word about the
parade has spread past the
Pryce's .concession road
and they're getting a•little
worried about too many
spectators and whether or
not there will be enough
tractors lit up with lights
so spectators won't be
disappointed.
"It'd be fun if
somebody - cmes to.
watch but hopefully we'll
have something to show
them." said Pryce.
She and her husband
have borrowed the idea
from' Rockwood, near
Guelph. where a similar
parade takes place from a
backroad throughthe
small town.
Now, crowds pack the
community to watchthe
annual event.
If the idea is. successful
locally. Pryce said she
Would like to see it
become an annual event
and maybe include
another concession of
neighbours in the event..'
"It's just a
neighbourhood getting
together and showing
some enjoyment," she .
said. .
They're frying not to
let the event get too big
and have asked
neighbours not to include
any equipment more than
•12 -feet wide so they can
leave room for
emergency vehicles to get
by i f needed.
People ,coming out to
watch will need to park
carefully off the roads the
parade will follow.
It will travel from the
Pryce farm on Sawmill
Road to Beechwood Line
