Residents decorate
for Christmas
family dinners
Queensway Nursing Home
les beginning to look a lot like Cthristmas at Queensway.
thanks to the auxiliary, volunteersand some staff members.
With the family Christmas dinners planned for early in
December we need to start early in order to complete the
decorating of our expanded building.
Thursday evening, Kay Wise. Edna Dietz and Betty '
Simmons used their skills to beautifully trim three Christmas
trees while Gary Boyle. singer/guitarist of London entertained
residents. first in the nursing home sunroom. then in the.
retirement home lounge.
Harvey Smith. Don Finkbeiner, Harold Glanville and Cliff
Brock provided -the musical entertainment Friday evening in
the retirement home lounge for a capacity crowd.
Pastor Vernon Dean of Exeter Pentecostal Church led
• worship service Tuesday. Auxiliary volunteer. Marg Cole
assisted residents. who were pleased by Pastor Dean's
compliment on their excellent singing. We are proud at
Queensway to have an active. participating congregation and
do welcome visitors to join us at our services.
Bingo. Christmas crafts. exercises and games rounded out
the week for residents. who are all looking forward to the
(omits Christmas dinners. " .

Hensall 2000 Citizens
of the Year announced

At Hensall United Church: Lynn Leppington was the •
greeter with Chuck Mallette playing the organ.
Thenshersi were Steve and Cecilia Corbett. Communion
was served by Mona and Vern Alderdice •and Raye.and Jean
Jacobe. The.children's hymn was "Para Para Pinter Pat."
Perne Mitchell's sermon 'was '"today and Tomorrow,"
The .mitten tree -is ready .for donations of mins, hats and
socks. Christmas evening songs •by the choirs of Hensall
United Church, ExeterTrivitt Anglican Church and Exeter
Precious Blood Church will be presented in Hensall on Dec. 1
. at 7-:30 p.m. There will be singing, readings and solos.
At Hensall Carmel Presbyterian Church, Tracy Whitson-
--Bahro's message was."Having The Last Word.
' Josce Pepper was the -Organist with Bob Bell and Harry
Smith receiving the offering. Dorothy Taylor looked after the
children's program. Dec. 3 will be the Communion Service
and White Gift Sunday. Ford donations will also be welcome.

kids .club are invited on Friday,.Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m. for an
evening of 4arolltng and ihartng the laughter.

daughters Jessica and Ashley.

residents with a comic skit during a show on his home
country.
