BROWN, Herbert: At his residence
in Dublin, on Tuesday, October 17,.
2000, Herbert Brown in his 77th
year. Beloved husband of the for-
mer Jane Gilfillan who he married
March 1, 1944 in Larbert, Scotland.
Mr. Brown was on Hibbert Township
Council for a number of years, a
Charter Member of Dublin Lions
Club, as well as Zone Chairman and
District Deputy Governor. He was
the recipient of the Lions Club
Melvin Jones Fellowship award. Mr.
Brown was a founding member of
the Dublin and District Athletic
Association. He is fondly remem- •
bered by his children, John and Lee
Brown, Gadshill, David and
Charlene Brown, Shakespeare,
Glenna and Tom Prince, Kingston,
Elizabeth and Ernie ' Fleming,
Dublin, Catherine and Jim Kelman,
Guelph, Dianne . and John

POWELL, Lillian Jeanette: Miss
Lillian Jeanette Powell passed away
at the Seaforth Manor, Seaforth on
Saturday, October 21, 2000. in her
99th year.,She was born February
15. 1902, near Dryden. Ontario.
She was the daughter of the late
Thomas Powell and Sarah
(Cochrane) Powell. She attended
school near Vanguard,
Saskatchewan and Thames Road,
Usborne Township, Ontario and
trained for a nurse at Kincardine,
Ontario. Following graduation she
nursed in Dr. Jones Hospital, Bay
City, Michigan for many years. She
lived tor a short time in Mission City,
B.C. where her brothers Perrie and
Baden lived. She nursed for a time
in the hospitals in Mission and
Chilliwack, B.C., Yellowknife,
N.W.T. and Colborne. Ontario
before retiring to Seaforth, and
making her home with her cousin,
Mrs. W.G. Wallace and Arthur. She
moved into an apartment in
Seaforth in 1973 and was a mem-
ber of First Presbyterian Church.
Seaforth. Although she lived in
Seaforth, she made many trips to
Western Canada to visit her rela-
tives. Her love for travel took her on
trips to • California and Mexico, as
well. Lillian was predeceased by
her parents, her stepmother, the
former Jean Wilson, her brothers
Jim and wife Dorothy of Regina,
Sask.. Perrie and first wife Mary of
Mission, B.C. and Baden of Prince
George. B.C., niece Eleanor
Rondquist of Mission, B.C., and
nephew Barry Powell of Regina.
Lillian is survived by sisters-in-law
Gwen Powell of Mission and Hope
Bunten of Calgary and one first
cousin, Mrs. Ida Evans of Brussels.
Memories of Aunt Lillian will be
cherished by her • nieces and
nephews and their families; Mervin
and Joan Powell of Creston, B.C.,
Lillian Powell of Saskatoon. Lenore
Richardson of Edmonton. Barry
Powell's wife Margaret of Regina,
Mary Ellen and Stan Sweeney, and
Linda and Mark Mauger o1 Mission,

George. Lillian was the much loved
cousin o1 the W.G Wallace family,

and their families. Their lives have
been enriched by knowing such a
truly remarkable person who spent
her life in service to others. Aunt
LiINan was a person who knew how
to delight in the little things of life. At
98, she had never lost her zest for
life. A service of remembrance and
thanksgiving for the life of Miss
Lillian Powell was conducted by
Rev. Nick Vandermey at 1:00
October 25, 2000 at the Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth.

Wallace, John Bennett, Murray, Nail
and Grant Vincent. Flower bearers
