McKillop Councillor,, Fergus Kelly and Sharon McClure are the two candidates running in the Township of McKillop ward to fill two available seats. The race for mayor. of Huron East remains between : the two. candidates of Seaforth 'Reeve Lin. Sterner and Grey Township Reeve Robin Dunbar. Huron East's deputy - mayor will be decided by a three-way Eprnpetition between Tuckersmith Reeve Bob Broadfoot. McKillop ' Toti+nship Reeve -Bill Siemon and Tuckersmith Councillor Bernie MacLellan. Grey Township ward has three candidates for two seats. including Grey Councillors Alvin McLellan and Graeme MacDonald and former Councillor Dale Newman. Brussels ward also has three running for . two seats including Brussels Reeve Ralph Watson and Brussels Councillors Greg Wilson and Joe Seili. In Seaforth . ward. another three-way race will be held between Seaforth Deputy -Reeve William Teall, Seaforth, Councillor Mike Hak and' Dick Burgess to fill two, seats. Four candidates are seeking the two available positions in Tuckersmith ward, including former Tuckersmith Deputy - Reeve Larry McGrath and Tuckersmith Councillors. Paul Spittal, Jim MacLeod and Bill De Jong. Final details over sale of PUC being completed. By Susan Hundertmark Expositor Staff The final paperwork involved in the. sale of the . Serfor th PUC to the City of Stratford igeludes setting up• two new •corporations for the application of. the sale to. the Ontario Energy Board, town council heard at their Oct. 10 meeting. • Administrator Jack McLachlan told council that Seaforth is still working with Stratford to make sure all the necessary paperwork is done ,i Nov. 1 deadline. fhe problem is that time. Is getting very short and there's not a lot of direction .coming out of Stratford." `1cLachlan told council. Seaforth council entered into negotiations with the City . of .Stratford to sell the PUC during a Special meeting on July 14. The sale • price of 51.375 trillion with a five-year employment • guarantee, was approved by • council at that meeting: • Two corporations, one for the distribution of hydro and the .other for other hydro services such as the rental of water heaters, must be set up for the Ontario Energy Board application. If the sale is approved.. the new corporations will. be owned by Stratford. During the•two months it will take for the Ontario Energy Board to make a decision. the Seaforth PUC will continue to operate the new - corporations, - said McLachlan. Another piece of paperwork to be completed includes a letter from Seaforth statingthat there are no PCBs in storage at the time of the sale. "They want to make sure they're aware of any future liability. fore any environmental concerns. And, that's no problem because we have no PCBs here," said McLachlan.
