Larivee. Al had played last season with the Stratford Jr. B Cullitons but opted to play this season where he felt he could get more ice and play in front of friends and family. A.J.'s father Art also joined the team as an assistant coach and assistant general manager. Larivee, only 16, but already with three years of junior experience made an impact his first game as a Centenaire as the Cents stole a point on the road in Thamesford. Seaforth spotted the Trojans a three -goal lead by the middle of the second period before getting their game on track. "I think because of our season last year we tend to be too tight at the start of every game" explained coach Jason Papple. "We need to get some confidence and go out to win•rather than just try not to lose." Seaforth managed to get on the board when Scott Henderson won a draw back to Larivee who blasted a low shot through the Trojans' netminder. The Cents narrowed the deficit to one goal when Matt Roberts finished off a cross ice pass from Aaron Parsons and Mike Murray. • Thamesford picked up a short-handed goal to go up by two before Scott Hendersdn managed to find the net on a power play with a rocket from just inside the Trojan blue line. With the momentum in their favour the Cents started the third down by one. A seesaw battle saw numerous chances and near misses at both ends. Seaforth managed to kill of a two minute power play with just a minute to go and tested the Trojans' goalie in a mad scramble around the Thamesford net forcing them to, deliberately dislodge their net, setting up a penalty shot for Henderson, which with 40 seconds to go was a must score, Henderson was patient on the approach and dashed to the right as the Trojans' netminder went down. Henderson tucked it in and set up 'a dramatic overtime finish. Neither team got niuch going in the five- minute sudden death affair until a Cents clearing attempt failed and the Trojans capitalized on the turnover with 50 seconds remaining. Despite the Toss, satisfied with a point. Cents captain Aaron Parsons was impressed with the Cents "hardnosed" style against a bigger Thamesford team. The Cents got off to another slow start Saturday as they hosted Exeter and spotted the Hawks a three -goal lead by the middle of the second period. A flurry of goals in the last four minutes of the period saw A.J. Larivee break the goose egg answered.by the Hawks 13 seconds later.- The ateraThe line of Jeff Macctispey, Jay Baker and Scott Henderson dominated the third period scoring three unanswered goals and giving the cents a 5-4 lead until an errant clearing pass was jumped o by a Hawks defenceman and a deflected o9 by its way past Robertson, sending the Cents to overtime for the second night in a row. Despite having numerous chances and outshooting the Hawks 6-1 the Cents couldn't beat a hot Hawk netminder and the Cents had td settle for a single point. Robertson was solid in net for the cents and kept the game close in the first period and a half while they got their game on track. Joe Nesbitt and Mike Murray had solid defensive efforts and the line of Tim McClure, Kyle Kruse and Matt Roberts nearly missed on several third period scoring chancfs. The game marked the third out of their first four that the Cents rebounded from a three - goal deficit. General manager Dave Parsons, was pleased with the third period performance of his team but wishes "the team would play with that intensity right from the start." The Cents face a tough weekend as they host Mount Brydges friday night at 8 p.m.. thenitravel o,Belmont on Saturday night. Josh Holland, recovering from a knee injury. is expected to be in the line up. 1 Coach Jason Papple said Holland has been going full but ai practice and "will add some more speed and offence to the lineup."
