Alzheimer Socie
to speak Sept. Zr
Seaforth Manor Nursing Home
This past month, we enjoyed our family barbecue with
Gladys Van Egmond and her Men -y Makers. A delicious
barbecue supper was prepared by our dietary staff for
residents and their families.
Our Peach Social was also an enjoyable afternoon. The
"Peach Cheesecake" proved to be a real hit and everyone
wanted the recipe.
Musical entertainment for August was provided by Jim
Delaney's band, Paul the Fiddler, Karaoke Singing with
Sandra, Carol Lebeau and Bill Pepper, Marian Rose and "The
Swinging Seniors," who entertained for our August Birthday
Party.
We had a wonderful afternoon visiting at the home of Bill
Gibson for his annual garden party. His flower gardens were
beautiful and the desserts were superb.
An excellent crowd attended our Canadian National '
Institute for the Blind Service Day, which brought awareness
to the many aids and services available to those with visual
difficulties.
Many friends, volunteers and former staff members
gathered to wish Ila Gardner a happy 65th birthday at her
open house.
We hope everyone will join us on our front lawn on Sept.
13 for our "Clinton Legion Pipe band Concert" at 7 p.m.
Also, we are pleased to have Alexandra Beasse, Education
Co-ordinator for the Alzheimer Society as guest speaker for
our "Alzheimer Coffee Break," which we are hosting on Sept.
21 from 2-3 p.m.
September is also Fall Fair month and once again, we will
be setting up a booth at the fair. We have lots of great pictures
of our residents and activities to display so be sure to drop by
and see us at the fair.
