Poor weather conditions reduce pot crop
By Matt Shurrie

Poor weather conditions
across Huron County are
being blamed for lower than
expected returns after the
Huron • OPP detachment
recently completed their
annual 'marijuana eradication
program.
"Numbers were
considerably down over past
years and i would have to say
our numbers are cut in half,"
Huron OPP senior constable
Don Shropshall said:
"One of the things that we
did find was the plants are
just like the crops, -they're
three to four weeks behind."
According to Shropshall
the three-day aerial search in
cooperation with the
Department of National

uetenc
Regional Police yielded
marijuana'crops with a street
value of 54 -million. That
total is down considerably
from last year's 58 -million'
seizure. '
if i was to go.by what we
seized the value would be
lower," Shropshall added:
"We had to go by what the
plant would be worth at the
end when it was harvested
and that is $1.000 per planta
