Registration for the fall and
winter programs will be held
on Sept. 6 and 7 at the
Seaforth and District
Community Centres from 7
to 9 p.m. Come register for
ringette, figure skating,
junior curling, minor
broomball. scouts and others.
Please note that minor
hockey has already held their
registration. If you missed
the hockey registration, they
will sign participants up on
the first day of practice,
which will be held on
Sunday, Sept. 10. Please
watch The Expositor for
times.
Babysitting Course
The Seaforth Co-operative
Children's Centre will be
hosting a babysitting course
for youth ages 11 to 13 at the
centre on Sept. 29 from 9 a.m
to 5 p;m. The course will
include behavior
management. first aid.
emergency procedures, child
development, crafts and
recipes.
. Registration fee is $27
which includes the course
manual and lunch. Please
pre -register by calling the
children's centre at 527-0682.
Preschool Storyhour
The Seaforth Library will
be hosting a fall session of
preschool storyhour
beginning Sept, 22.
Storyhour will be held on
Friday mornings from 10:30.
to 11:30 a.m. at the library.
Registration fee is $5 for
the full session of 13 weeks
or $2.50 for alternate weeks
or $1 per session. Please call
the library for more
information or registration.
Terry Fox Run
Last year over $6.7 million
was raised in Terry Fox's
name in Ontario and Seaforth
raised over $4,500.
This year please
commemorate "Twenty Years
Running" for successful,
innovative cancer research by
participating in, or donating
to The Terry Fox Run in
Seaforth on Sunday, Sept. 17
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the
Seaforth & District
Anniversary tourney
has 58 teams in play
Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club
The Seaforth Lawn
Bowling Club Anniversary.
Tournament 2000 which was
held on Aug. 23 was again a
success with 58 teams in play
during the day in a double -
draw tournament.
Many fine comments were
heard from outsiders about
the condition of the Seaforth
greens, the excellent display
of donated prizes and to the
ladies of the kitchen.
Drawmasters Fred Tilley
and Ruth Ribey kept each
draw running smoothly.
Top local winners for the
day included Ken Barbour
and Jean Bewley of Brussels
as second and at third was
Diane March of Burlington
with sister Brenda Empey of
Clinton.
On Thursday, Jack and
Marie Muir took first prize at
Brussels. Saturday saw
