Horticulturalists
tour local gardens
Seaforth and District Horticultural Society met June 14 at
7 p.m. at the home of Mary and John Van Loon.
We toured their garden which was just beautiful 'o'ith so
much colour. They went on to Steve Hildebrand's. His •
garden was out front and was mostly green. .
At Ron Williamson's there was a fish pond and many
homemade bird houses. We finished our tour at Peg and
Dick DeJong's where we held our meeting in the garage.
Pat Rodney welcomed everyone. - -
Roll call was answered by 20 members.
Mary McLeod had attended the O.H.A. convention in -
Guelph. June 9 to 11. She gave an interesting report,.
Pat Rodney read the report. The convention will be held
in Toronto next year. . •
A motion was made to co-sponsor a Home and Garden
tour next year with the Museum committee.
A letter was read from Jane Muegge and we decided to
send our minutes to her.
- Olave Little was given permission to purchase 200 tulips
from the Legion.
The bus trip to Belgium Nursery and Cullen Gardens is
July 19. Anyone interested can contact Nancy Kale.
The September meeting is at the Van Egmond House with
