Students see The King and I
St. Columban
Marie Hicknell has
returned from a trip to
Europe. Accompanying her
were her sisters, Pat
Corman of Waterloo
and Ruth and
Werner Marx of
Deka Lake B.C.
They visited
Belgium, Holland.
Luxembourg,
France, Austria and
Germany.
In Belgium and
Holland,.they visited
the home towns of
Rose and Joe Visser
as well as Jean Van
Drunen's brother.
In Austria. they went
through the Alps where
Marie described, "We went"
up and up and up." In
Germany they visited
Werner Marx's home town..
One of the greatest
highlights of the trip was
viewing the Passion Play at
Oberammergau. Marie says
the play is
undescribable,
unbelievable, very
realistic and a very
moving experience.
The Grade 4 to
Grade 6/7 classes at
St. Columban
School visited the
Huron Country
Playhouse in Grand
Bend where they
saw the musical,
"The King and I."

against the Delhi Athletics.
In Huron County men's
action, a home game on
Sunday against Goderich
ended in a one -all tie. The
St. Columban goal was
scored by Bruce Griffen off
of Blaine Doran's corner
kick.
