I'd like to know where the
stop button is on this new
"irritation" system. Since the
moment they delivered the
pipe. it hasn't stopped raining
for any real length of time.
We wanted green - we're
getting green. No roll but lots
of green. Umhrells, rain
suits. and rain covers seem to
he the order of the day this
spring.
The rain is helpful in my
other little enterprise
promoting the sale of rain
covers. Last week I was
fortunate enough to visit the
LPGA tournament in Dayton,
Ohio. Many of the ladies on
the tour use the Seaforth Rain
cover and since I hadn't been
out on.their tour for awhile,
and since it was raining just
as much in Ohio as it was in
Huron County. the ladies and
their caddies were very happy
to sec me. They always
marvel at how 1 can bring the
rain along with me. I don't
know if that's a good thing or
a had thing but I tell them it's
just very well-planned
marketing!

THE HURON EXPOSITOR, May 31, 2000-15
rain cover hot item at LPGA tourney
By Carolonne Doig
Many of the ladies' events
are only three-day
tournaments so on
Wednesday there was a pro
am and another again on
Thursday. The golfers were
practicing diligently in high
winds and scattered showers.
It's not always sunshine and
fun out there. When the
winds really came up. the
putting green cleared except
for a fcw players and 1 had
the opportunity to watch
something that made me
admire the ladies even more.
Cindy Flom - who used to
bc Cindy Rarick for all you
golf fans. had just flown in
from Arizona. She was
dressed in normal clothes and
street shoes. All she had with
her was her clubs. Her caddy
was driving the van, with all
the other "life on the road"
belongings.
Cindy knew she was
playing in the pro am the next
day but she had just found
out that she was first off the
tee at 7:20 a.m. She wanted
to get a little putting in.
Kris Tschetter showed up a
few minutes later and the two
took advantage of the open
putting green and the various
holes on it.
They challenged each other
to a game of "Putter Back"
and for the next hour I
watched two well-known
professional golfers have the
time of their lives playing a
simple game and practicing at
the same time. It was great to
watch and they both were
happy to explain the game to
me and encourage me to
show other golfers how it's
played.
Cindy wasn't putting well
at the beginning and Chris
had her on the run, but the
next morning Chris told me
that they had ended up tied.
I wasn't able to stay and
watch the tournament on the
weekend but the game must
have been beneficial as Cindy
Flom shot 67 the first day and
had a very good finish in the
tournament.
I was also able to chat with
A.J. Eathorne, who finished
in the top five, Dawn Coe
Jones, and Liz Farley - all
Canadians doing well on the
LPGA Tour. Driving home in
the pouring rain on Thursday
afternoon wasn't easy but it
was gratifying to know that
the ladies support the
Seaforth product and it was
great to bring home a new
putting game to teach the
golfers at our club.
Recently at the Seaforth
Golf Club the following
things took place: - Alex
