Seaforth Tykes are WOAA champs
The Seaforth .Tykes hockey
team topped off a stellar
season by capturing the
WOAA Championship held
this past weekend in
Goderich.
Eleven area teams made up
of 6 and 7 -year-olds
competed in the three-day
tournament.
Seaforth faced Mitchell in
the first round on Saturday.
Seaforth jumped out to a 3-0
lead early in the game, then
traded goals in the final
period to heat their eastern
rivals 6-3.
Round two pitted Seaforth
against Hensall. Strong
defensive play and excellent
goaltending proved too much
for Hensall.
Craig Windsor came up
huge in goal when called
upon and at the midway
point of the game Seaforth
held a 2-0 lead. In the 'incl
20 minutes, the offense
kicked in for seven -straight
goals. Hensall potted two late
in the game to make it 9-2.
The WOAA final went on
Sunday with Seaforth facing
Goderich in an entertaining
contest. Goderich trailed 4-2
at the midpoint and then
scored •early in the final
period to bring them within
one.

us how the traps worked, and
all the different kinds of traps
and furs he has. He has
almost eCery kind of fur
including the lynx, beaver,
coyote, black bear, badger
and skunk. It was really
interesting to see and feel the
different animal furs.
We looked through our
hook and went through our
homework sheet. We also
received a sheet that had
some questions about 4-1-1, to
test our knowledge.
Meeting 5 and 6 is at Bob
Norman's chinchilla ranch in
Varna on April 8 from 9 a.m.
to noon. We will also be
visiting a mink ranch. At the
mink ranch, we are to be
very .quiet .with.ion running
and we are asked to keep our
hands behind our hacks
because minks arc
carnivorous.
