On Feb. 13. the Grade 7:
and Of St. Columban
School boarded the bus fdr
Quebec City where we spent'
toour tun -filled days - `
ex -Waring and learning about
this spectacular city. • -
The first day started with
the I I -hour bus ride which .
began at 6 a.m.. -
The first'night we went to.
C:pper Town for dinner at Lc
Petite Italie. or in English.'
Little Italy.
After dinner we were able
to see Le Chateau Frontcnac
all lit up and we had a
wonderful view of the St.
Lawrence River.' We then , •
enjoyed the Quebec
Experience: a multisensory,
multi -media trip into,
Quebec's history•.
Thc walking tour of Upper
Town began. We were
astonished and awe-struck as
,we came upon the huge ice
palace and all of the -amazing
icesculptures that !lad been
carved by some veryialented
people. •
On Feb. 14,we went on
.another walking tour, but this
time of Lower Town. We
then visited the Basilica
Notre -Dame -de -Quebec and
saw the crypts of Governor
.Frontcnac and most of the
Bishops of Quebec.
Next. we headed to the
Stoneham Ski Resort, the
third largest ski resort in the
province ofQuebec, where
we enjoyed an afternoon of
downhill skiing.. Many of
the hills took 20 to 30
minutes to ski down.
For supper, we enjoyed a
French -style meal at Aux
Anciens Canadians. After
dinner we walked to Bistro
Plus where we danced the
night away.
We spent the morning
Feb. 15 at La Base de Plein- .
air do Sainte -Foy where we
.enjoyed -many activities such
as tubing. ice fishing, cross-
country skiing and
hroomball. We also Went to
Les Gaieties de la Capitate, a

imax theatre and hundreds of
stores. - ,
After we were all done our
shopping we drove back up
to Upper Town wherewe
were given a tour of Le
Chateau Frontenac.
When the tour was -over
we were given the chance to
go on the big ice slides. The
slides were fantastic and
everyone loved them. For
dinner that night we ate at a
Sugar Shack. There we
enjoyed folk dancing, a
wagon ride. and a traditional
taffy. pull.
On Feb. 16. we awoke at 6
a.m. and packed our bags.
We enjoyed our last meal in
Quebec City at the Flash
Cafe before we had to leave
for home. Thc ridc seemed
shover on the way home, and
once again everyone had lots'
to say, O is time about how
much w2 loved the trip and
how we didn't want to leave
Quebec. We arrived back
home at 8:30 p.m. and we.
were all greeted by our
parents.
. Although happy to be
home, we all miss Quebec. It
was a wonderful experience.
it taught us about different
cultures and -different
languages.
Thc trip was absolutely
excellent and it gives
younger children something
to look forward to in the
future.
