The 13 - hour flight coupled with an eight-hour time difference. have left the pilgrims feeling the effects of "jet lag." ' Maria relates she thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Mount Carmel. Mount Tabor. Massada. Capemaum, Bethlehem and Jerusalem were some of the sites visited. The pilgrims could touch the top of the hill of Golgotha in a Church at that site. The Way of the Cross is unnervingly commercialized with hawkers selling their wares along those streets. Maria relates that the last few "stations" are treated more sacredly. A highlight for the group was the celebration of Mass by local pastor, Father Moe Charbonneau, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee: The Grade 7 and 8 students from'St. Columban School who visited,Quebec City have returned to relate their adventures: The St. Columban By R 345 Mary C. yon -2560 eef students were there during the annual "Bonhomme Carnival" and so enjoyed some skiing, the ice palace, snow sculptures, and sliding down the ice slide which is built every year for the event. Chateau Frontenanc and the Quebec Imax which showed them the history of Quebec. • While not everyone from the school went to Quebec to enjoy the "Bonhomme Carnival" there, the remaining students celebrated their own version here with teams and games. We were fortunate to have him share his experiences with us during his homily. Here are some of his thoughts: "We experienced first- hand what we read in the Gospels." Father Moe said Mass on the mountains. At their fingertips, they experienced the Mount of Transfiguration and the Sea of Galilee.
