The Hensall and District Horticultural Society held its annual meeting on Feb. K. The new executive was sworn in. • The speaker -for the evening was Susan Hay of Jhe Huron.Stewardship Council whit discussed -a contest. The -Society is also Dffering a bus trip through Let's Go Tours to Canada Blooms on March 25. The Society will celebrate a millennium party on June- • 5. The guest speaker will he Liz Prinieau of Canadian Gardener Magazine. The next meeting is "new members night" on Apiii1.18. The speaker will he Shirley Bellows. There is a prize for whoever brings in the most new members this year. Membership fees have increased due to grant cuts. but there are more nursery discounts than ever before. On Feb. 9 the Hensall Legion held its.general meeting. A motion was Passed to donate 550 to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organisation. On Sunday afternoon public speaking was held at the Legion.
