Two tired eyes are sleeping.
Two willing hands are still,
For ,the one who suffered far too
much. is resbng in God's vwll.
We sat beside your bedside.
Our hearts were crushed and sore.
We prayed to God to spare you.
'Tit we could do no more.
You suffered much in silence.
Your spint did not bend.
You faced your pain and courage.
Until the bitter end.
God saw you getting bred when a
cure was not to be.
He wrapped His loving arms around
you.
And whispered 'Come to Me "
In tears we saw you dying and
watched you fade away,
Although our hearts were breaking.
We knew you could not stay.
If we could have a lifetime wish.
And a dream that could come true.
Wed pray to God with all our
hearts. '

God looked around his garden.
And He found an empty place,
He then looked down upon this
earth.
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you.
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffenng.
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never
(=et well on earth again.
He saw that the road was getting
rough.
And the hillsare hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids.
And whispered 'Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you.

Carol Mitchell makes
history with second term
as Huron County warden
By David Enulie
Clinton News -Record Editor
Carol Mitchell made history at a December
County Council meeting.
The Clinton Reeve was elected to a second
consecutive term as Warden of Huron
County, which could well be a first for the
county.
Mitchell, discussing her election to the post
by fellow county councillors. noted that she
is not sure if the second
election is a first for
Huron. She stated that she
had been told by the
museum curator that this
did, in fact. occur before
World War I. although
they have yet to verify the
information.
Whether or not she is the
first warden to claim the
post two years running.
Mitchell knows she will be
busy over the next year.
She stated that she agreed
to let her name stand for
the election because of the
many issues facing the
county. and the changes they encompass.
"Because of what 1 learned this year. because
of the changes that are happening so fast. 1
bring knowledge forward." she said.
She cited policing. restructuring and the
realignment of such services as ambulances.
day care and social housing as items which
must be dealt with by county council in the
next year.
"It will be a very busy year." she said.
While the county has large issues to tackle.
Mitchell noted it must also remember the
items that have to be dealt with on a day-to-
day basis.
She had praise for county employees who
work to meet the challenges. "The county
employees are vers dedicated and committed
to meeting all the new responsibilities being
added to an already full schedule," she said.
it took three ballots last Tuesday hefore
Mitchell was re-elected as the county's
warden. in the first
ballot. there was a tie
between West
Wassanosh Township
Reese Doug Miller and
Howick Township
Reeve Norman Fairies.
A second ballot was
held to determine
+vhich of these two
++ould move unto the
third ballot against
Mitchell. Miller was
chosen to move on.
then Mitchell won the
ballot to earn her
second term as warden.
Commenting on the
election process. Mitchell said. "It was pretty
exciting when it all came together.'
She said she was honored to be chosen
warden for a second term. "This was
especially true as I had just finished a year. 1
feel especially- honored and privileged that
county council would place their trust in me
again."
Quoted
1 feel especially

Obsolete computers given to town- staff
instead of dumping them in landfill site
With new computers in place and the old ones obsolete. Administrator Jack McLachlan
asked if town staff who wanted the three or tour computers could take them.
Council gave its approval based on the tact the computers were only useful for some games
for children at home but would otherwise end up in the 'landfill site since they are outdated
beyond what schools or other organizations could use.
Reeve Lin Steffler suggested instead of having to pay kir the computers. staff svho wanted
them could make a donation to the food hank.
It's better than, taking them to [the landfills and dropping them off. said Deputy Reeve
William Teall.
