Pcnnings - 328 Literacy/Numeracy Project The Literacy/Numeracy Project of Huron County needs volunteer tutors to help learners of all ages with basic reading, writing and math skills. No previous teaching or tutoring experience is necessary. If you can spare an hour (or More) per week, and would - like to make a difference in someone's life, we would like to talk to you: Tutoring times and locations arc flexible and training, resources and support is provided. For more information please call Heather Robinet or Ann Heeney at 482-7948. Novice hockey tournament The Annual Peter Flanagan. Memorial Novice Hockey tournament will take place at the Seaforth and District Community Centres on Nov. 20 and 21. Teams from Southwestern Ontario will be competing for the championship. Come out to the arena and watch' some great action. Scrapbook workshop The .Seaforth Library will be hosting a scrapbook workshop for beginners on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. Registration fee will be SIO, which includes making one page. Each participant must supply -eight to 10 photos. Please pre -register by calling 527-1430. Tree of Lights Ceremony The Seaforth Hospital Auxiliary would like to invite everyone to their annual "Tree of Lights" Ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The lighting ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on the front lawn of the hospital. Come visit with Santa and enjoy some hot mulled cider and hotnemade cookies. Proceeds will go towards purchasing a therapeutic - ultrasound. Santa Claus Parade ' The Seaforth Santa Claus Parade will be held on Friday. Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. This year's theme will be "Christmas over the years".. Mark this date on your calendar and come out to watch a great parade. The Agricultural Society's annual Toy,. Doll and Craft show will be held the weekend following the parade (Dec. 4 and 5). This show attracts vendors from all over Ontario and parts of the United States, so come to the agri-plex, arena and high school and check out all the great items. Free public skating Free Public Skating is held at the Seaforth and District Community Centres every Sunday from 2:30 to 4 p.ln. Some Sundays are cancelled' due to tournaments or special events. A schedule of all skating times was distributed to 'all arca schools. If you did not receive one. extra copies are available at the arena. Times will also he puhlished in. the community calendar.
