Seaforth. The five homes involved were uniquely decorated by five local professional florist designers. Thc Ideas and the enjoyment have been the main topic of conversation as we start to prepare for Christmas: • Thc tinal•stopior mot of us was St."Jamcs Church itself; where we not only . enjoyed taking in the newly • redecorated church. but also the warm hospitality -and fellowship._Congratulations is extended to everyone who • had a part in this wonderful and exciting project. Rob Wellhurn and his daughter Sally. from Yorkshire. England. spent a • l0 -day visit with Gary and Diane Elston,• Jonathon. Michael and Katie. Among the -highlights of their . visit was a trip to Niagara Falls; for _Sally, a day spent at. St. Michael High School in Stratford; and for both visitors, an eye opening -experience-of the fun. dressing in costume. • • and the trick or treat of Halloween. The High School Group used the St. Columban School gym facilities for games of volleyball, dodge ball, cards and crokinole. Upcoming activities'are being planned for each of these groups. Any youth in the parishes are welcome to attend any youth event. Joe and Florence • Devereaux and their family travelled to Elmhurst, • Pennsylvania, to attend the ordination as deacon of their son and brother, Joseph Devereaux. He belongs to a religious order. the Fraternity of St. Peter. Joseph will be • ordained to the priesthood on March 4. 2000, at $t. Peter's Basilica in London by Bishop -Sherlock. His first Mass will be'celebrated at Si-. James Church in Seaforth on March 5, 2000. It will be the first ordination to be • celebrated at St. James in a 'number of years. The students at St: ' Columhan School recently celebrated "Spirit Day" by wearing the school's colours of green and gold in their attire for the day Maplewood residents celebrate Octoberfest in fine style. They also visited the Wawanosh Conservation Area where they observed the animals and plantsin a field, forest and wetland. The Grade 5/6 and -6/7 classes participated in a "Celebration of Light."
