By Barbara Scott IAM Due to those awful wartimes And what I have learned about it I am the widow, soldier and lost child. And though I am not I know what it's like For, I can.imagine. I am the widow who lost her husband Who remembers the day she met her dead mate And sheds tears as she hears the awful news. I am soldier who lost his best friend Who must break it to his friend's family In a wheelchair, since he lost his priceless leg. I am the lost child who lost his dad Who will never truly know him For he was too young, and knew nothing about him. And as long as I live I will remember what I have learned, and imagined About the dead, and their beloved loved ones. And maybe, just by luck The dead will stay alive In my mind and memory.
