Straight Talk From
THE
BUSINESS
DoCToP
Order Is The Law
There are three kinds of. laws
that are said to govern the
actions of man. The first are
nian made th you break one
of them and they catchyouu. .
you go to jail.. - .
The .second kind is God's
law, 11 you break one of ,
those laws supposedly you
will he made to atone some-
where .farther down the 'road.
The third kind is called.
Universal Law. These ate the
Ones. which as business peo-
ple. we must he aware of
and work in harmony with.
The first Universal Law is •
Order. In his hook Rays of
the Dawn. Thurman Ftcct
defined the -first Universal
Law .this way. "The : .•
Ltni verse•-iti_otk; of-
Jaw.—order--.ml harmony: It isnot the
resultof chance. Accident
and misfortune are not the -
normal outcome of man's
existence and neither of
these things constitute a pact.
of the natural plan."
So what docs that mean? It
means there isa reason for
escrything. There is a reason
torr winning and there is a
reasop for losing. We may
not always understand what
that reason is hut there is a
reason. This is the law that
defines the reality of cause
and effect. It is the law that
defines the need for order.
Everything is cause and
effect including business.
In husincss. working in har-
mony with this first
Universal Law is mandatory.
Thcrc has to be order in all
your systems. The more
order. the greater the prof-
itability. That is a fundamen-
tal truth of business..
Think about it. Many of us
can walk into a business and
within twentyminutes define
the inevitability of its
demise. There is no magic.
You can do the sante thing.
If you go into a business and
you see disorder in their
.inventory control systems. in
their merchandising systems.
in their customer and
employee handling systems.
in thciraccounting .or Mar-
. kering systems. you know
immediately this husihess
_. cannot-sur.iuc. Itis-not—
Magic.
s_ aot_magic. it is the law. It is
inevitable.
This fundamental require-
ment for order is the reason
,for the proliferation of com-
puters in the business com-
munity. Computers force
step-by-step logic and order
into any system.
So the questions now are.
how much order do you
have within your business
systems? How much profit
can you expect? And if the
law is valid. and it is. the
answer to the second ques-
tion can only be found in the
first.
