Goderich threatens
to bring in commission
County council won't give. Goderich more time,
commission could change all restructuring plans

The town had asked the
county to delay its.
decision on a plan by
Clinton. Goderich
Toulnship.. and .Hullctt
Township to create the
new municipality of
Central Huron.__ Cau--nty.
council. however.,did not
agree.
The county rejected the
Goderich request fora one
month delay. and gave it
give" its unanimous
support •to the Central
Huron plan.
The amalgantatiott-plan
freezes the town's existing
•boundariesand will-not
allow for expansion •to
• include properties such as

compafed Goderich's
experiences in the past
fiveyears with
amalgamation talks to the.
"Dating Game."
He said Goderich had a
few "dates" with the
Central Huron group. who
decided they should "split
up."
Shewfelt noted that they
were going "steady" for.
awhile with Colborne
Township. but the people
of the township decided
open to negotiating
boundary changes on a
"case -by -ease basis."
He added they would
prefer- to deal with
expansion as proposals
come forward.
