The- advantages of autumn golf are numerous and for many gojfers, this is their favourite time -of year to play. The- hot' and humid summer weather, for the most part, is behind us. Crisper mornings and cooler breezes allow for .more comfortable golf and walking. the course becomes a part of the fall 'fitness regimen: Wearing a wind- shirt or your favourite golf sweater will keep you comfortable until the sun warms up, so keep it handy in your golf bag. Don't forget that you will still need some sunscreen on your face right through the fall. - The goJlt;, courses are generally quieter in the autumn, especially during the weekdays: The juniors are back at school, the Happy 88th Birthday Grace Smith Best Wishes and Love and family and friends. Many golf shops will be discounting their equipment and clothing so they•won't have to carry it over the winter. Great deals are out there and. there is still enough season left for you to use the new equipment and get used to it before next spring. The golf pro may .be more available for lessons now too, although at some -smaller clubs where the pro plays a variety of " roles, the fall can be hectic .when student help returns to school. If you're thinking about lessons, regardless of your level of skill, then talk to the pro and arrange for some time- slots. Now is the best time of the year to play golf using. that new technique and trying out those professional tips. The season is winding down, the tournaments are over except for scrambles, and the score is not that important any more.
