the'drag strip in his '87
Mustang iii .the
professional .eliminattir
classes at the Grind Bend
Motoplex and a track in
St. Thomas.
"When I had me licence.
• 1 started racing. When I
turned 16. I' got my first
car and t've been doing it
ever since.' • said

him and his brother, Mark.

With a consistent car
and perfect reaction times,

driver can take a 'win. The
slightest mistake -and. it.
can be over before -the
. driver hits the accelerator.

are owners of the rail line.
Scott said they also need to,
discuss the- issue of a second

answering machine on an
administration line at
Goderich-Exeter Railway's
office in Kitchener, but did
not have a response from
anyone at press time early

car runs can change as the
day cools down.
When the green light

MacDonald said. "It's just
great. It plants you back in•
the seat and you just go. I
like the 'speed. -It's -an
adrenaline rush. '

However. it's been
modified quite a bitsince
and has gone from being 4'
four -cylinder car to one
with a V-8 engine inside.
"I've been around cars
my whole life." - said
MacDonald. who works at

he, his dad and Murray
Kelly have put'a lot of
work into ,McDonald's:

When he was in Grace
12, MacDonald won the
high school nationals in
Indianapolis at a three-day.
event -there and locally,
hopes -to compete in a
point series in which the
top 10 qualify for a finals
round in Ohio.
He's set that.goal for
next season:
It adds a little more
competition to it and it
gives you something to
compete for." he said,
adding the.rc arc Pots of
good 'racers out there to be
up against.
"It's a fun sport. There's
lots of good people out
there with a -common
interest." he said.

MEETINGS
The Province of Ontario has decided to transfer
responsibility for land ambulance services in Huron
County to the County. Over the next year. the County is
faced with the decision of determining whether to
deliver this serviceitself, contract it out. or Continue
with the five existing providers in the County. As a
result, five public meetings have been scheduled to
provide you with the opportunity to raise any issues,
concerns. or questions you may have about the future
of land ambulance service delivery in Huron County.
The meetings are being held:
Sept. 7 Clinton Town Hall Auditorium.
Sept.8 Seaforth Community Centre
Sept. 9 South Huron Recreation Centre, Exeter
Sept. 13 Wingham United Church
Sept. 14 MacKay Centre, Goderich
All five meetings start at 7 p.m.
