The. annual summer Showcase Hockey Game Recreation preview featuring local NHL. junior and college players will take on the staff of the Dave McLlwain Hockey School on Thursday. Aug. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds •from the game will go towards minor hockey. • Fall and Winter • Registration, The annual fall and winter program registration nights will he held on Wednesday. Sept. l and Thursday. Sept. 2 from 7 to 9:p.m. at the Seaforth and District Community Centres. It will also he• hosting power skating for children 6 and up in two sessions - October to December and January. to March. Last .Tuesday. two •ladies• trebles rinks participated at Mitchell but rain hampered the play .most of the day.. Two teams travelled to Southampton on Wednesday. but missed out on prizes. Also on Wednesday. Fred Tilley and Dennis Schmidt bowled •in the 50;andover .optional singles at,London's Fairmont Club and .won fifth. On Thursday. Fred and • Betty .Tilley ' and Erich Llatzold were h.igh.two- game winners at a London tournament. Also competing were Neil and Donna Bcuerman and: Eiteen- Adamson. I _ ` . August 14 saw Jack and 'Marie Muir and Jim• Stotts win first prize at titchelt.- Seaforth Lownbowling Club :mixed trebles tournament hi le Lee Ryan and. Fred Tilley won the consolation prize at Woodstock men's open tournament. . Coming up on Aug: 25 is the annual double draw tournament and the largest ono of the year for the Seaforth•club. The ladies will be catering to more than 100 •tlo%viers -for supper and: as in any.organization. the help .of all members and associates is greatly appreciated_ • Most prizes are donated by the members •and associates as well as donations towards food..€the day. With today's .rising expenses, this tournament helps the lawn bow ling club remain solvent. We discussed various health problems and what to do about them and judged oranges. The next meeting will be . held on Aug. 31. The Huron County Go For The Gold was held on July 27. Two Sheep,Club teams participated. The Sheep One team consisted of Robyn Etherington, Tonya and Shawn Drost, and Tim Devereaux and the Sheep Two team consisted of Sarah Broaditot, Arny McClure.
