Toronto in the Canadian .championships. The team consists of Carol Carter. Seaforth (lead), Gloria. McFalls. Exeter (second), Jo -Anne Bugler. Exeter (third) and skip Andrea Weigand of .Exeter. We wish the girls good howling in these finals. Neil and Donna Beuerman competed in the District mixed pairs last Saturday but were defeated by Dennis and Shirley Schmidt of Goderich. The Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club held its first- ever fish fry. Thursday evening at .the club house. Jim Stotts provided and cooked the fish. Jack Muir did the corn in the open kettle and Marie made salad and. dessert: Lawn bowling followed and everyone agreed it had been ',a successful evening. Sunday saw 14 greens in play - for the annual toumanient. High bowlers for the day were: first. tilarjorie Leslie and Marilyn Lancaster of St. Marys; 2nd was Dennis and Shirley -Schmidt of. Goderich: 3rd went to Jurgen Fessler of London Fairmont Club ho_w.ling with Diane Terry of T:uistic: "fourth were Peter a:1d Gloria. McFalls of Exeter. High two -game winners were Lee -Ryan and Carol Carter. Sixth .was Dr. Phil Leahy and Teresa of the Elmira Lawn Bowling Club. Seventh went to Moe Cosyn of Woodstock and Carol' Fuller of Ingersoll. 'Eighth went to Fred and Betty Tilley of the home club- while the -consolation prize went to. Kevin and Janet. .Rumig.of Goderich.' - Seaforth bowlers have been active in out of town• -tournamentsthis past week. Her teammates come from Exeter. Last Sunday at a St. Marys tournament. Fred and' Betty Tilley were first .place winners. Lee Ryan and Carol Carter and Neil and Donna Beuerman were two -game winners. August 2nd saw Lee Ryan and Carol Carter in first place while Neil Beuerman and Eileen Adamson placed fourth. Three Seaforth teams won prizes in men's pairs at Clinton on Aug: 4.' First prize went to Fred Tilley of Seaforth bowling with Kevin Rurnig of Goderich. In third place were Erich Matzold and Jim Stotts while fourthwent to Jack Muir and Bob Doig: On ,Thursday in the' Mabel Wheeler • tournament in Brussels, Thelma Coombs and Olive Papple won the_ Consolation prize.: Bowling in.Stratford on Saturday in their M and M men's trebles. Lee Ryan; Tom Phillips and Dave Wicks were high two game winners. Also winning two games -were Fred Tilley. Erich Matzold and Jim Stotts. Wednesday afternoon delivering magazines. books and sundry items to interested residents. They look forward to this weekly program. for the visiting as much as the purchasing. Manicures were the order of the day Thursday as several women gathered around the table for hand soaks. polish and massage.
