amalgamation and wanted
that opinion to be aired. Love
said he and fellow councillor
Gerald Shantz both voted
that Hay Township is "in the
right :group" - but also_
disagreed with some parts of
the amalgamation proposal.

said she often wondered why
Tuckersmith was even
• involved in the MRC talks,
especially since the township
clerk is now working .for
Scaforth.and McKillop and:

The motion was defeated to
include Tuckefsmith in the
MRC talks with only two
members in favor. •

motion that the MRC give
Tuckersmith „a 30 -day
extension to conduct a "valid
poll" of opinion. The motion
•was defeated, with one
person in favor. as members

council long enough to
decide its future.
At the end of the meeting.
Tuckersmith -resident Bob
Bell. a former township reeve
and Huron County warden.
said he was "very unhappy
and disappointed' with his
council. He said talks with
the MRC were going well
until the death of their reeve.
"It's the most undemocratic
process I'v.e seen in this
township." he 'said. "I think
it's a bad situation. it's too
bad the triple-majoht`y-=was
not in place at the- Iasi
meeting."

proposal will be rewritten,
excluding references to
Tuckersmith Township, and .
submitted at the next MRC
meeting scheduled fdr June
16 in Bayfield.:
Transition costs were
available based op five,
municipalities and based on
various ways to divide costs
including assessment.

whole picture so asked for
additional figures. such as
splitting costs equally five
ways. to be included and
brought to the next meeting.
"It seems very, very funny
that' the biggest municipality
pays the biggest costs." said
