Residents enjoy Exeter Quilt Show
• Seaforth Manor residents
enjoyed an outing to the
International Plowing Match
Quilt Show which was held
in Exeter this past month. '
Everyone marvelled at the
beautiful-coldurs, designs
and craftsmanship displayed
there.
We were delighted once
again to host the "Annual
Meeting and Luncheon" for
the Seaforth Women's
institute in recognition of
their many years of
Seaforth Manor Nursing Home
exemplary community
service.
• Our Easter church services
continued to be enjoyed with
the assistance of Rev. Dino
Salvador, Rev. Rob Hiscox,•
. Rev. Janet Kuepfer, Rev.
Judith Springett and Pastor
Doug Corriveau.
Our musical entertainment
for April was provided by

Carol Carter, Marian Rose.
Bill Gibson and Paul the .
-Fiddler.
An afternoon of armchair
•travel took everyone on a
four to glorious .Greece. •Rev.
Sloan from Carunna was our
tour guide and provided
humourous commentary as
we journeyed through this
historic country via slides

from his recent trip. Wine
and hors d'oeuvres topped
off a very enjoyable
afternoon. -

St. Columban Church reopens Sunday
Father Mooney made the
announcement this past
Saturday evening that this
was our last regular Saturday
evening gathering at the
Knights of Columbus Hall.
The work is progressing
well at the St. Columban
Church building.
After a hiatus of 20
months, Mass will
be celebrated in the
St. Columban
'Church starting
Sunday. May 9, at
9:00 a.m. and will
St. Columban
but in a small rural

doing on a Sunday afternoon

of St. Columban
was_Suddenly
brought to life this past
Sunday afternoon when a fire -
was discovered at a small,
shed at the home of Dan and
Rhonda Nolan. The quick
action of Helen Nolan
brought the Seaforth Fire '
Department on the scene:
Neighbours and friends came
running from every direction
ready to lend a helping -hand:
There was concern because
of the proximity of the
school and some nearby
trees, the recent dryness and
a wind which could have
made the whole incident '
much more serious. The
situation was soon under
control. No one was hurt. As
relieved neighbours returned
to their homes. the remark
was made, that where else

recently competed
successfully at the Kiwanis
Music Festival. Stratford. in
the Choral Speaking
Division.
The Grade 5/6 class held a
surprise party for their
teacher. Mrs. Looby. who is
going on leave.
The senior students at St.
St. Patrick's. Church
plans centennial
Dublin
St. Patrick's
Roman Catholic
,Church, Dublin, will
hold a centennial
celebration in 2000. -
A meeting was held.-
