Thank -you St. ;ude 'or favours granted_ • J.0 ;'-l6xnc • • THE HURON EXPOSITOR, April 21, 11-15 Survey will help find resting place of 124 buried near Huonview BY DAVE EMSLIE Clinton News -Record Editor A survey being conducted behind the county's Health and Library Complex will reveal where at least 124 Huron County residents were laid to rest. • Interest in the old graveyard .arose late last year when a cairn marking the resting place of those who lived in what was then known as the House of Refuge was .levelled. While the carved stones listing. the names of those- buried behind the Old 'Huronview are.' to be moved inside the new Huronview in memory of early county residents. a group called the Stone Angels has been working to ensure the burial ground itself is recognized. - It is the work of the Stone Angels , with - county . representatives- that will now result in the • original boundaries of the graveyard. hone located. - Reg Thompson: a member nil - the • Stone Angels explained that uncan and Rutherford D d Environmental-. has volunteered its time to . conduct .the survey. It's funny it comes out to the bottom of each plaque in each case." he said: ' -When- we discover the limits of where the outermost -graves are. it will give us the size and shape" of the graveyard....
