Biddulph, took place Tuesday after-
noon interment in St. James cemet-
ery, Clandeboye. Mr. Cobleigh died
on s,Apday in his 42nd year.

in Seafortli on Wednesday evening
of last week where Bro. Taman pre -
seated a past D. D_ G. M. jewel to
Bro. Harburn and two past Grand
Jewels to two members of Fidelity
Lodge. The initiatory degree was
exemplified ' and refreshments were
served. Addresses were given by the
D. D. G. M. and' visiting brothers
from other lodges.

There died. at his home on Wed-
nesday Mr. George, Wilds, who had
not been ` well for some time, al-
though lie was able to be up and a-
round until two weeks . before his
death, his illness being due to heart
trouble. He was a kind neighbor
and friend and will be greatly miss-
ed not only by his family but by his
friends. His wife died 'On December
last. He leaves to mourn his loss
three ' sons, two daughters, one sis-
ter and four, brothers. The • dem
ceased was 78 years and 7 months"
The funeral was held on Friday aft-
ernoon. Tire bereaved have the sym-
pathy of the community., "'
it is a source of great satisfaction'I
to note the interest taken by our
citizens generally in. the beautifying
of our town. Even the :children are
more careful than they used to be•
not to destroy, or, deface property.•
Of course a few thoughtless ones.

this, the most attractive town in

"Babe Siebert" of Niagara Falls,
a former member of the Exeter
hockey team, and a son of Mr. and
Mrs. Siebert, of Zurich, was badly
injured -in an auto collison, on Tues-
day, April 8th. He was driving a
sedan when another ear crashed in-
ter his car containing himself Mr.
and Mrs. McAvoy and 'six children:
Mrs. McAvoy'had her throat cut and.
narrowly escaped death while all
the other occupants were more or
less seriously .injured. The other
driver was arrested, but is now out
on a $5000.00 bail.
There will be two historic gather-
ings in Toronto :on June 1st. The

continuing Presbytering church will
hold its first -General Assembly on
that 'date, as well also" the General
. council of the United church. Many
who have -riot -taken an active, part'
or stand in the matter of church
union either because. they belong to
other churches, or because of a d'c
sire to remain strictly neutral, will.
be glad when the controversy feel-
ing dies down.., They have faith
enough in their countrymen to be-
